Have fun and learn about Volcanoes

Erik was an excellent guide. We discussed our areas of interest and he tailored our tour around those interests. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He discussed the history and culture of the area and people. He provided us with a great understanding of the science of the volcanoes as we explored various sites. It was a pleasure working with Erik and we would highly recommend Eco Tours.

Erik was an amazing guide. The walk wasn't too strenuous and the several place we saw in our 3 hour trip were breathtaking. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Erik is very knowledgeable and his years of experience are obvious. To the main caldera and the lava tube to Devastation....everything was amazing. Highly recommend this shorter (3 hour) but perfect tour. Thank you Erik!

Our guide was Erik who is also the owner of the tour company. He gave an excellent overall tour with in depth explanations of the volcano the lava the history of the park. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our day and also restaurants outside the park and things to do after our tour and things to visit on the other side of the island and also on Maui which was next on our itinerary. Worth the cost for this private tour for sure

My husband and I (along with our two cousins) recently had the privilege of taking the 5-6 private tour led by Kilauea Ecoguides on our trip to the Big Island, and we have nothing but praise to share about our experience. Our tour guide Erik was an incredible teacher. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and engaging, and we all walked away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the uniqueness, power, and beauty of Kilauea and the national park. (A bonus perk: Erik also shared some great recommendations for post-tour dining in the area to help us recharge after our excursion and hiking, which helped us see more of the area.) We also really enjoyed the ease and flexibility of the logistics surrounding the tour. They were very communicative in advance of the tour and provided clear details on what to expect on the tour, what to bring, meet-up logistics, etc. which made things very simple and easy--especially for folks like us who were visiting the park for the first time. Overall, I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in visiting the park. Jay was an excellent tour guide. He not only taught us a lot about volcanoes but included Hawaiin culture. It was an active hike but very doable for most visitors. Jay also took a lot of time to help us plan the remainder of our itineray and we loved everything that he suggested for our hikes. I would do this tour again!

Seeing the park and parts of the volcano was amazing. It’s quite beautiful. Our guide was so helpful and very flexible as we had to change the date and were also limited on time. She was incredibly knowledgeable and had an enormous amount of information to share. We’d have liked more personal stories and less book knowledge to keep it more fun but it was still outstanding!
