British explorer Captain James Cook met his death at Kealakekua Bay on February 14, 1779, after a skirmish with the king of Hawaii in a local village. Today, a white obelisk in Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park stands sentinel over the lush coast and its crystal clear waters, commemorating his death.

Clear water, worth getting up early for
I was rebooked to the shorter tour only covering the Captain Cook monument. The early wake up call was worth it. For the first half hour, we were the only boat at the harbor so we got a bunch of quality snorkeling. We saw turtles, eels, and a pod of spinner dolphins

New boat great crew.
Captain Mike Morgan Jesse Laykin and C were a great and helpful crew. Good service and congenial. Provided helpful tips and safety information. 2 year old vessel specially designed and equipped for snorkeling. Great excursion.

Fun and safe day of snorkelling
We had a great day snorkelling. The crew was hospitable and focused on safety. They have a nice boat with easy access. They watched us carefully while we were in the water and Josh even monitored on a paddle board. It was a perfect day.

Fun in the Sun
Snorkeling was excellent! Really appreciated how the crew had someone actually out on the water ready to help anyone in need. I witnessed him assisting two guests having issues with their masks. It was obvious he was right there if anyone had a more significant issue. Safety was obviously taken into account. Well done!
