Great guide from Green Tours. This tour should be titled Hilo tour with volcano nit waterfall!!! We spent most time at volcano and lave fields small amount of time at waterfall.

The host of this trip was excellent. However, the booking company is terrible. We spent about an hour driving to and from the airport to drop off a couple who was scheduled to do a Helicopter Tour, which was not part of this Tour. Additionally, the tour said they were going to the Gardens in Hilo and we didn’t see one. The other stops were great and the Tour guide was great. It just seemed poorly planned by the travel company who oversees these tours.

Bad weather was just the luck of the draw, however, the vehicle was an older Toyota van that was noisy making it hard to hear the guide. Make sure what the vehicle you will be riding in before you book it

Karen was a excellent tour host. Her know was on point. She made us feel welcome, educated us on the history of Hawaii, taught us new words, and told us about the multiple languages here including pigeon… to top it off Michael cracked a coconut for us. I would recommend this trip to anyone coming to the big island. Oh yeah, I forgot Karen recommended a dinner location in kona called Quinn’s almost by the sea. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

Our guide Yong was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of the volcanoes and surrounding Hilo highlights. He was very courteous and engaging and enhanced our excursion immensely.

This was a good excursion that we took while in Hilo for the day. Great choice rather than a crowded cruise based excursion. We were picked up in a nice newer passenger van. Only 8 total people in our group. Our day in port was a bit short, so some of the stops felt rushed. But as a group we talked with the guide and made some adjustments. Bring a light snack, although we did stop at a 7/11 for lunch.

Received a text the day before the tour by the operator to change my flight time or location or we would not be able to attend... Thanks for the notice! Perhaps when I booked this tour Viator could have provided all this information.

Shore excursion. This tour is for cruise ships. This tour which operates on days ships arrive and are joined with cruise ship guests. Please don’t book air without checking with us. This is shore excursion from cruise ship; not, from airplane. We need flight number and time of departure and return flight and flight time.

The driver/guide, John was very, very knowledgeable on everything about the island, History and culture to real estate to geology to plants, etc, etc. This is a six hour tour that makes a lot of stops. It was raining much of the day but John made the stops and everything worked out very well. We would recommend for first timers or anyone that wants a good overview of the area.

Nicely paced trip around the hot spots near Hilo

We enjoyed the fact that this was not on one of those giant buses. It was nice to only worry about a few couples getting on and off the bus vs a large crowd. Each stop was 20-30 minutes and they were spaced out to the point where you do not spend hours driving to get to a short 20 minute stop and leave. The variety of the stops between waterfalls, Volcano National Park, and other attractions kept the tour perfectly balanced. My wife and I really enjoyed this trip and I would recommend it to anyone.

Hilo, Hawaii bus tour for cruise ship people

The tour was very thorough and the driver and guide were both helpful and knowledgeable. It wasn't clear that we would have to buy our lunch at a gas station to take on the bus for later. Also, the tour ended up being 6 hours instead of 5 so it got a little long and people were antsy.
