Don't waste your time
dstiger57, Apr 2024
This tour was a waste of time and money. I was in the back of the van and so I couldn't hear a word he was saying the whole time. Even when we got out to see things we would race off a head of people and if you couldn't keep up you never knew what he had described because he wouldn't wait until everyone got together. This was not organized very well. We stopped and was told if we needed to use the restrooms it was a walk in the other direction. What we weren't told was the restrooms only took Euros not Hungarian money. This should have been something mentioned before I walked up to the restrooms. By the time I got back he was loading the bus to leave. I also think two hours is too long to spend in a small town just to shop. It's fine if that's your thing but for people who don't like to shop it was wasted time. This wasn't exactly how the tour was described, very misleading. The only positive thing about the whole tour was the meal, hats off to the restaurant.
excellent

Our guide Yolanda was the highlight of this trip. Her documentaries on the sites we visited was so informative.

A total waist of time and money
Awdhesh_S, Sep 2023
I would like to get my refunds because this was a terrible tour experience for me. First of all the tour company didn’t pick me up from the hotel. After I called they said that I have to have my own transport. I got the taxi and reached there and then the tour guide didn’t explain if the Basilica will be closed and there was no vegetarian meals. We didn’t see the any of the places shown in as photos on this tour such as Visgard and no tickets were provided for any of the excursions so whole trip was waist. My valuables vacations time was lost entirely for whole day. I would like to get my refunds back and compensation for the day. On my this trip I had booked total three trips the other two were fantastic except this one which was worse in my entire life. Thanks for your assistance. Awdhesh Sharma
Must see experience

The amazing views were worth the trip. Lunch was delicious and the cruise back to Budapest relaxed. A long but enjoyable day
Averadge day out.

The tour oprator did not mention that the main cathedral is under restoration. Almost everything to see inside is under wraps. The tour operator had 3 languages to contend with, so commentary was very limited.
Towns along the River
Debra_M, Aug 2023
We had a lovely day seeing the towns along the river and it was good to get out of the city. Our guide was very informative and very knowledgeable. It was great not to have to worry about finding our own lunch. One young lady serving at the restaurant was very rude and she didn't want to serve us but that was her problem. Overall, the lunch was lovely and in such a beautiful spot overlooking the river. Some really great camera shots. The trip back on the ferry was an excellent way to end the trip.
Fix the sound system
LUEVANOP, Jul 2023
The tour overall was good. Here´s the dilemna. I paid for a Spanish speaking tour. This one was bilingual. Being a seasoned traveler, I have been on many tours. I know the difference in the quality of the delivery of the explanations given by the guide. The tour guide Hilda tried her best to make the tour interesting. However, she felt short and the group didn´t get he full information had it been in one language. In addition, the sound system in the minibus was HORRIBLE. There was so much static, one couldn´t hear after Hilda spoke. We had to ask and remind Hilda to turn off the mic numerous times. One guest even recorded how BAD the static was. The sites visited and boat ride were great.
Good

Good experience. Guide needs to tone down the inappropriate words. And dry jokes. Food could be better. And there should be non alcoholic dessert. When asked if alcohol was present in pudding they said rum. So clearly they did t know what rum was. The route is good. Slovakia could be bit longer stop.
Too much money for the experience
FLORENTIN_I, Jul 2023
The guide was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the 3 course lunch was a disgrace (sachet soup, dry cooked frozen vegetables, somloi galuska made from pudding) and a waste of time (enormous waiting time for a lunch that was already announced in advance, number of people coming and all). Such a waste of time that we only had half an our left for the very beautiful town of Szentendre - we only had a lemonade, since the day was scorching hot, and did not manage to see much of the town. The return trip by boat was with a public boat. So we ended up paying a ridiculous amount of money for a couple of beautiful views...
A great day out

A really enjoyable day. Amazing insight from our guide. Highly appreciated lunch. This was one of the best day trips we've been on for some time.
Danube bend your from Budapest

We had a nice lunch overlooking the Danube bend. The little village of Szentendre was really lovely. We spent some free time there wandering around the pretty streets and shops
Danube Bend not to miss out on
Joel_E, Jun 2023
Clara is so knowledgeable about her country’s history, she talks about it as if she lived through the 18 centuries herself. Three languages were used by the two hosts, and Clara hosted in English and German, and switched between the two seamlessly and impressively.
Good overview of the area especially if you are interested in history and architecture
Delwyn_B, May 2023
It was great to visit 3 different towns outside of Budapest, the lunch was very good, and the weather for the boat ride back to Budapest on the Danube was perfect. Our group felt the guide's spoken English was not up to standard for a tour of this type; and tended to spend too much time imparting her knowledge of the area and history, which prevented us actually seeing/exploring things/places
Great lunch and boat ride was nice
kathleen_r, May 2023
The day overall was good. I was actually able to take the boat back to Budapest. The part that I was not happy with was there very little time in Slovakia and only went into it to see Danube from across the river. There is also a lot of construction on the building which you could barely spend any time inside due to the dust and everything being covered. Also on the outside there were repairs being completed as well. If I had known this part I would probably have not gone. Lunch was excellent. Tour guide was helpful
Nice to get out of the city
Elizabeth_K, May 2023
If I were to do this again, I would try to find a trip without lunch included. The lunch was ok. I would have rather spent more time at each location and had lunch on our own at Szentendre. This would give time to see the Royal Palace up close instead of seeing it from a distance. Because of the time it takes to drive to each location, there is a lot of time in the bus. The tour guide was wonderful as she provided a lot of history and intersting facts about the places as we passed them.
Nice tour of the countryside
Barbara_S, Apr 2023
It was great to get out of the city and see some of the countryside. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The lunch stop was in a beautiful location and the food was very good (especially the dessert). The stop in Szentendre was too long. Most passengers were not interested in the marzipan museum. One hour in the town would be enough.
