The start location on google maps is at 7 Signal Hill Road, Signal Hill. As you turn onto Signal Hill Road, the parking area is about 500m up the road. There is a white mobile coffee caravan opposite the trail head (most times in the afternoon).

This was an outstanding tour and the views and experience I will never forget! I had great communication from my guide - Tauriq. My pick up was scheduled for 3:50am. Tauriq said he would text when he was on the way and he did. He was right on time. We were given headlamps to use for the first part of the hike until the sky was brighter. He shared lots of good information and took care of all the participants on the climb. When we reached the top and saw the sunrise, he shared chocolate chip cookies his wife had made. I will say this hike is a bit more challenging than I expected - but I managed fine. But can see where older individuals not used to this activity would have difficulty. There are sections where we climbed a ladder and took some giant steps up or down over some jagged rocks. Sturdy shoes are a must. I highly recommend this tour if physically able!!

Highly recommend, we had the best time with Kurt, who was so friendly, informative, professional and an excellent photographer! Everything was timed to perfection, with the views before, during and after sunset all incredible, with some excellent stargazing too!

Great Guide

I was travelling in Cape Town by myself, and didn't feel comfortable hiking Lion's Head solo (which I'm glad I did not, even before it became extremely foggy). This hike was great. Tariq was a fantastic guide - gave great background and was very helpful while members of the group were nervous. I would absolutely go on another hike with Tariq.

Everything was organised very smoothly and our guide Idrees was a really nice guy. I am not super fit but thanks to all the carefully selected break times a story telling, I managed to get to the top and back, no problem. The morning we went was very very windy, Idress did well to check in on all of us constantly and make sure we were comfortable. Once we got to the top the view was amazing. The sunrise and the clouds over table mountain - stupendous grandeur.

It was a great tour! You should experience this! He was knowledgeable about the history and also the place and time we can see sun set without any clouded people. He knew how to take nice photos and I got so many awesome photos! I didn’t choose pick up and drop off but he gave me drop off since that was on the way to another customer’s drop off place.

Incredible hike up Lion’s Head for sunset. Kurt was amazing- professional, fun, ensured everyone was safe and comfortable and had a great time. He knew all about the best spots for photos, and made it an amazing experience!

Great little hike with experienced & informative tour guide Tariq. Arrived on time to collect us after letting us know the day before time of collection. Well worth the early start. Fantastic views. Even the unexpected rain didn't take away from the experience.

Half a hike and half a climb, big rocks, ladders and staples to go up, great experience but lots of people. In that situation it was very helpful to have local guide with us who knows the mountain inside out. Kurt was very helpful in avoiding the masses and the traffic jam at the ladders, very much appreciated.

Tauriq was incredible at organising my hike. My guide - Johan- was the loveliest, patient gentleman. He was absolutely amazing! Johan was very punctual and made me feel extremely comfortable from start to finish. He had great knowledge and experience about the hike and was extremely positive and encouraging. Thank you so much Johan for helping me achieve this personal goal of mine, it was the perfect ending to an amazing trip. Wouldn't of been able to do it without him!

We had an excellent time hiking sunset with Idrees! He was helpful in showing us the route and various options for different level hikers. He also shared good history of Capetown with us. Also, the hike is breath taking. Additionally, we were scheduled for the sunrise hike but it was raining, so the group allowed us to join for the evening. Thank you for a great time and for accommodating us!

I went on this hike with my husband and i didnt realise how difficult i would personally find it as im not a person who goes gym or trains to be honest but im glad i did this it was an amazing experience and the tour guid was amazing i lowkey kept slowing the group abit and he realised i was having a hard time with the hike but he was understanding and reassuring with made it 10 times better but honestly its all worth it when you get to the top its an experience i have never dont before and im glad i dont it and Tauriq was an amazing tour guid

I and my son went on the Lion’s Head Sunset hike. Tauriq was our tour guide and he was simply excellent. He made this hike the best part of our Cape Town visit. He was very knowledgeable and fun to hike with it. He also took great pictures. He came and picked us up from our AirBnB and dropped us off for a little extra charge but it was worth it. Overall, we absolutely loved this hike and our tour guide.
