Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and had you right at the gates to the jail! Newly renovated but the history among other things is still there. The very first room was a torture room and the hairs on the back of my neck went up. If you go to Charleston this is worth your time!

This was a great tour. The narrator was an ex homicide detective and very knowledgeable about history, ghost legend and an all around great guide. This is a great way for families to get some history without making the kids feel like they’re learning!

I’ve taken this tour once before and told my boyfriend all the strange and weird things I had heard while in the jail and so he wanted to experience it to. We had a tour guide named Bruce who was very knowledgeable in the jails history. He shared his personal experiences with the group which helped the tour feel more authentic. Taking the tour later in the evening really makes it feel that much creepier! This tour team always does a great job.

There was a lot said about the deplorable conditions of the prison which we can all imagine. I think most people want to hear more about hauntings, etc. We were told to use our ears to hear and sense stuff but the tour guide talked all the time and the tour was in and out without much time for individuals to listen.

Okay tour but not sure worth the money.

The tour was fairly short and light on content. There was a large amount of time spent by the tour guide talking about the deplorable conditions of the prison, which we can all imagine. I think more people want to know about hauntings that go on this tour.

Bruce Orr was a Great guide through the Old Charleston Jail House! Best tour I’ve had in Charleston yet. He really knew his history. Tour was spooky without being campy. Highly recommend!!

My daughter and I were on a mother daughter weekend trip! Not my idea to go to a haunted place but thought why not!! Great tour guide! We were nearing the end of the tour and my daughter felt something twirling her ponytail and blowing on her face! Sure glad I didn’t know it then!!! Some of the pics she took inside made us realize we were not alone in there!!! Definitely worth the tour and hearing the stories of the jail!!

The tour was very informative, it gave you the experience of the tome and what prisoners experienced. The tour guide said if you stayed quiet and listened you might here things. This opportunity was not achieved, more time to sit in the dark and allow your own fears build would have made it a better experience. The tour guide was great, and wanted to get all the stories out, but he should allow silence in all the rooms for a few minutes to build the fear.

We just had the best nighttime spooky tour of the Old Charleston Jailhouse! Our guide (forgive me his name has slipped my mind but it was the 9pm tour on Oct 9) was such an incredible storyteller, really captivating and charismatic. We had our 12 year old with us and she loved it. COVID requirements were followed and we felt comfortable and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!!
