I'm a family of 6 with kids age from 1 to 17, so finding activities that are suitable for all of us but won't break our wallet is hard to come by. And I honestly never write reviews, but we were so pleased with our experience so here you go! The only downfall(at first) was there only being one buggy available for our tour. HOWEVER. I think it's vital to inform whoever that we also booked this tour late at night, on the night before the tour. Alex reached out to us first thing in the morning hours before our tour to inform us of this and see what we could do. We still went and I'm so glad we did! We ended up arriving to Cozumel half hour before the tour started. Waiting for a taxi had us about a half hour late, we contacted them and they waited for us! We were able to pick what ever other car we wanted to drive and were extremely satisfied with the top open jeep ! The tequila tour was informative and enjoyable with extremely friendly staff! The food was delicious! The two different beaches were absolutely beautiful, and so was the view driving around the island. We were first time snorkeling, José was patient and thorough. And again it was absolutely beautiful.. now I want to get to honestly one of the best parts of our tour..José himself! This man was so friendly and flexible making our experience a 12 out of 10! He was kind with my children, talked with all of us the entire time, shared stories and taught us about the history of Cozumel. When one of us were tired he waited, if we need anything he helped and allowed us to pick how the tour went. José made this tour one we will never forget. I would recommend this tour to everyone. And personally we plan on coming back again!

    When we first got there,...
    Tandi_J, Apr 2024
When we first got there, we were automatically approached about how Carlos’s family depended on us giving them cash he thought I was a joke when he said $100 or $200 to me at the end would be nice throughout the whole time he kept requesting money to his family then when we get to the vehicles, the other family that was with us was expecting buggies we got a buggy that was about to fall apart and a convertible Mustang, which is not considered a buggy then when we got to the tequila spot, he requested to add another couple that were Hispanic, who did not speak English to ride with me and Logan and a separate convertible Mustang that showed up so we switched vehicles three times because again we get to the restaurant which by the way was very little food and very very disgusting compared to my first time ever coming to Cozumel. This was my second and it was a terrible experience then we had a chance to get back to our vehicle and Carlos says that the Hispanic man and wife that showed up wants to drive and he’s going to let them drive instead of us , the other family and I sat down when we got to our last destination and we were only given 30 to 40 minutes left to snorkel and Daughter was given a life jacket way too big for her and it was choking her in the water they wouldn’t even let her swim because only snorkeling that day which was very odd, they said the same thing I said we paid to have buggies like the picture showed. That’s why it’s called buggy as excursions right? None of us were happy that seven people even the two that showed up halfway that were Hispanic weren’t pleased. Like I said, this was my second time to Cozumel. I came back because the experience before was amazing this time I was so unhappy.
Do not put your life at risk!

We booked the tour online. The tour operator office does not exist, we called them and were picked up at a random spot in the street. The company delivered a buggy and a Mustang car but both sets of customers had asked for a buggy. Myself and another couple complained and the manager arrived saying they only have the two cars (buggy and Mustang). We went to inspect the cars. The tyres were bald, rubber parts were hanging off the car, the interior of the cars were damaged. We asked for a refund, we were told to call viator but then the tour guide drove off. We signed no documents for insurance or wavier. I could write more but I have a word limit. Do not use this company.

This tour did not deliver as promised. I felt I was being nickled and dimed by tour gide's family members at each designated stop. The food was terrible. And the cars were not as described.
    Great history of the island.

Had a great time and learned a lot about the island. The buggy was worn out and looked much better on the advertisement than in person. Food good. Not enough time to snorkel
    Worst Cozumel Buggy Experience
    Esteban_t, Apr 2023
Communication was good however my experience with Cozumel Buggy was one of the worst experiences I ever had in my traveling experience. I was traveling with my mom who is 77 yo and other two family relatives. I wanted to give my mom an unforgivable experience and hoped Cozumel Buggy would deliver that. Wrong the experience started bad since the beginning. I ended driving a terribly worn down mustang that had tricks to open the trunk and beat up interior and exterior. The guide did his best(at leat that’s what I think on leading the tour) he kept complain about how he had been working a lot and sweeping too deep into the ocean, which lead to pain and body ache. We were rush to do all activities from snorkelling in a beach that did not offer a many sea-life to see and we were rush to conclude the activity because of water currents. The beach was calm with beautiful weather. When I asked the guide if we could stop somewhere to purchase a hat for my niece and daughter, the guide insisted in taking us to his wife’s shops which was kind of far from the point I requested to stop. Not only that the inconveniences continued with our meals.Under what’s included the description said “ Fish ceviche at San Martin beach” and offered options on selecting your meal protein. This was not true. We were never offered Fish ceviche at San Martín Beach and at lunch the restaurant only gave us the option between beef or chicken fajitas and stated that they had no fish or shrimp available. When their Tour Post states the following ; “Fajitas, choose between chicken, beef or fish with guacamole and pico de gallo Mexican restaurant.” Also they weren’t able to make mojitos because they didn’t have any mint. Service was terrible since our table didn’t even count with napkins nor condiments. We were rushed again to leave the restaurant with the tour guide walking to our table and seating with us while we were eating what we could from their false advertisement. It became so uncomfortable to have him right on our face while we were trying to eat and have a good time. Then we were rush and had no time to enjoy the are only to be taken to a tequila location where we were offered ridiculous overpriced liquor. The horrible experience doesn’t end there, before the tequila presentation started I went to the men’s restroom and made use of one of their stalls. In there the tour guide walked in with the tequila sales person and had a conversation of how such a bad week they had and how now it was the tequila’s sales person opportunity to close a sale and make up for the week. Are you fkn kidding me!!! They weren’t aware of me being in the stalls and when I step out of it one of their team members was still in the restroom and was surprised to see me exiting the stall. Also at the restaurant and the tequila shop I was asked to answer a survey rating their service and writing down comments, ok this is the worst you can do to your visitors since the survey is not privately done and they are right on your face when you are doing it, such an intimidating thing to do. I had way higher expectations but left with such a disappointment.

    Horrible

My family and I showed up at the destination meeting point and the tour left early. We called and we were told someone will get us. After numerous calls and texts, no one showed after 30mins.
Good time but not entirely as described
    Rachel_G, Jan 2023
Tour guides were SUPER nice! We were not in a buggy though and instead of an older Mustang convertible. The beach we were snorkeled was a little rocky but the experience was nice. We then drove down the coast for lunch at a beautiful beach. The vendors will absolutely hound you... beware. Lunch was lacking. We then drove through the suburbs to a tequila tasting. This was the best part!

    Counterfeit Tequila/Mezcal Dangerous Beach
    Nicole_F, Oct 2022
Guides were great. Aside from that it was disappointing. 1st no beers included as stated in description. 2nd buggy’s are in very bad shape, our was backfiring literal fire. 3rd, stop at St Martin beach was bad, beach was dangerous, there was a big sign that said no swimming, no chairs, no umbrellas and no ceviche like in the description. 4th Tequila tasting was fun, however it’s illegitimate counterfeit tequila/mezcal that they try to sell you. Aside from that prices are criminal($250 Reserva). Felt very pressured to buy at every stop. So not recommend. When we finally did get to eat at the last stop it was ok. 1/5 stars for us.
Do not take this tour it was awful! False advertisement
    Milena_M, Sep 2022
I have used Viator for several different tours in Cancun, Cabo and Puerta Vallarta. This honestly was embarrassing. The tour was awful . They will not pick you up at ferry , We had to take a cab . The buggy’s are very old . They do not run well , the seats are all ripped . The snorkeling stop was over crowded . The tequila tasting was fun. We bought a bottle to help the small business but it was very over priced . My mom also bought a bird wind chime at the tequila tasting , when she got home she realized they packaged the wrong one. She ended up with some other unrecognizable animal. The restaurant he took us for lunch was dark and dingy in the middle of town. I have done a tour of Cozumel before and the guide took us to a restaurant on the beach with a beautiful view . We were the only ones in the restaurant and it was not good . I would not recommend this tour. Rent your own Jeep, drive the island and pick where you want to stop . I wish you could get a refund for fake photos that are displayed on their advertising .
    Not perfect but still fun.

So much fun!! Great food. A little disorganized & cars do need a lot of TLC. But overall we had a great time.
    Buggies need some repairs
    Amelia_A, May 2022
Our buggy was not in the best shape. The seat would not stay adjusted properly so when I pushed in the clutch or brake my seat would slide all the way back.
    Great tour guides
    Christine_N, May 2022
The tour guides made it an excellent experience- the buggy was in poor condition- not shifting correctly, a ton of play on the steering wheel, brakes were awful.
    A fun day in Cozumel

our tour guide Roy was very informative. The tour was private and exciting. Roy provided us a complete out look on the island. The water was beautiful and the food was delicious. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
    Amazing tour, with Incredible guide!

    Enjoyable day on Cozumel
    Abbey_B, Apr 2022
We had a great day snorkeling, eating fajitas, tasting tequila and driving around the island of Cozumel. Our tour guide Johnny was great and really knew a great deal of history and other interesting things to do next time we came.
    Very fun day!

Ruy was a marvelous guide. He made sure we were safe, and having fun. I am not a strong swimmer, but I like to snorkel, and he was fine with leaving me in the shallow water, and taking the others to the deeper water. He treated us to not one, but two meals-ceviche on the beach, and the best fajitas EVER at a restaurant in the city. You have the option of driving or, he will drive if you prefer. One warning-the buggy does not have doors that open-you must climb in from the top. I have mobility issues, and that was a challenge-but that made it even more fun. Ruy was very helpful and did not make me feel like a burden. Make sure someone in your group can drive a stick shift! Also, I was not aware that there are other vehicles to choose from-one couple in our group drove a pink mustang! He said he has Jeeps, Audis, and Cadillacs as well.
    Bad scary experience!!
    Rick_R, Jan 2022
The absolute worst experience! Do not book this tour with trip advisor or Viator! Fake tequila tour, very bad snorkeling, bad car/buggy. Gas gage wasn’t working, speedometer didn’t work but the worst part was the tour guide who scammed us and running a game on our stops with his friends. Bad bad people. Do not book through Trip Advisor or Viator!!!
    Great fun for first timers
    Shawn_G, Dec 2021
We had a great time in the Cozumel Buggy tour. The car was fun to drive, snorkeling was fun and good for beginners, and lunch was fajitas at a local restaurant. Our guide, Ernie, was very friendly.
