Confusion

While Machu Picchu was awesome, the arrangement was lacking. Was picked up by a non English speaking driver, who basically left us on our own at the train station. The guide finally met us at the mountain, and basically rushed the tour. We were set to depart on the 4pm train, and were back in the town at 1pm.More time was spent wondering about than was spent at Machu Picchu .Don't see why we had to leave Cusco at 4AM. Even after the tour we were basically on our own till the train departed, which was much later than 4pm. On arrival back in Cusco, the same confusion, driver could not be found, we just stuck together as a group and figured it out. Very disappointed with the overall lack of organization.

Everything was very well planned. Tour operator got in touch with me early in advance and met with me the day before to explain the trip. There were no last minute surprises. We travelled as a family of four including my two year old. Uriel was awesome as a tour guide. While the trip is long, it is totally worth it. Friendly service and properly timed!

Tour company needs to do a bit of work on their service

First, Machu Picchu is awesome and getting there by panoramic train is great. The tour company is a bit disorganized. They said the guide who met us outside MP would be calling our names, but they forgot to send it to him. They did send him a picture, so he found us. They weren't there to meet our train coming back, so we were wandering around looking for a sign. When we called, we were told he was there, but he wasn't. Then the driver let on kids to perform for us. We had 2 sick travelers and really just wanted to get back. (It was after 8pm.) The driver also picked up 2 other random people, which was odd. We spent far to much time in Aguas Calientes, a town of little charm and endless shops selling mostly the same stuff. It would have been better to take an earlier train back.
