Next, head to what is claimed to be the world’s most haunted cemetery: Greyfriars Kirkyard. Walk around the tombstones, and listen to stories of poltergeists, missing bodies, and the graveyard’s famously loyal dog.

Lastly, follow your guide into Edinburgh’s underground vaults. Explore the dark subterranean chambers, and uncover their 400-year history as you hear gruesome snippets about ghosts, torture, murder, witchcraft, and unexplained events.

As you walk, watch and listen or any strange events and noises: many visitors to the vaults have reported weird sensations and sightings.

When it’s time, re-emerge into the streets of the Old Town, where your tour ends when you say goodbye to your guide.

Ghost tour
Jane_T, Apr 2024
James our guide was brilliant! Really engaging, knowledgeable and got right into character. Daughter loved it & said it was the ‘best bit of the trip’!
An interesting walking tour
ChiWai_N, Apr 2024

Fun and spooky walking tour!
Juliana_P, Apr 2024
Our “ghost” was Sawny and he was great! He kept making us laugh the entire time and really kept in character. The stories he had were in theme and the only thing that I would’ve liked, is a longer tour! But overall it really was great.
Interesting

James Douglas was a fantastic tour guide. He was an excellent story teller and did a great job interacting with the group and keeping everyone engaged. We got to explore some of Edinburghs vaults and learn about it's more colorful historical characters. A great value and I definitely recommend this tour.
Would recommend!!!

This was a great tour! Dr Knox was scary and fun! The tour took us underground and to a gravesite. He was an excellent storyteller which add to the fun!
Spooktacular!
Ana_C, Apr 2024
Captain Grey was amazing!! My husband and I had been on a just tour previously in Edinburgh into the vaults with a different company and this was far and away better! We had so much fun learning history and spooky stories all from Captain Grey himself. Our 9-year-old loved it, too, and felt it was just the right amount of spooky. We’d definitely book this again.
Very enjoyable and informative tour
Megan_F, Apr 2024
Some very interesting stories and background information about Edinburgh and it’s history. The guide, Captain Grey, was interesting and kept the mood light with relevant humour. It was a good amount of walking to see enough without feeling like too much. Very enjoyable.
Need to hear guide
Anne_B, Apr 2024
Doing the tour in the dark added to the ambience , however, the guide could not be heard when walking along pavement in a group moving from on area of tour to the next , heavy passing traffic . The guide needs to stop so all can hear . Overall a good tour
Could be better
Brendan_M, Apr 2024
It was alright, but I honestly felt it dragged a lot, and could have been done quicker, most of the time was spent on banter between the tour guide and young children on the tour which was just off putting for us as we weren't expecting kids on it.
Excellent tour
Eugene_E, Apr 2024
The young man (Lafayette) was funny and informative and truly made the tour! Thank him again for us.

Our group was lead by "Maggie Dickson." The tour was fun and informative. "Maggie" told interesting stories based on historical figures and events. Tour was partially underground with a cemetery trip. The kids really enjoyed it.
Historically interesting
george_d, Mar 2024
Had problems with finding meeting place, need better directions. Lafayette, our guide was funny and yet informative. Tour has lots of walking and we expected more underground , not just a couple of rooms.
Good Tour
knething81, Mar 2024
The best part of the tour was our guide! The Great Lafayette was awesome. He was energetic, engaging and made sure the tour was enjoyable. I will say, this wasn’t a haunted tour. The title is deceiving. It’s more about the dark history than haunted stuff. It was interesting to hear about the history and walk the cemetery and underground. Our guide made this tour. Without him, I may not have enjoyed it as much.
Funny & informative
AshtonMcCann, Mar 2024

Edinburgh Ghost Tour- Great Glimpse into the Underworld!
Jackie_M, Mar 2024
The Great Lafayette was a great guide! He was funny, informative and kept the group together and safe through the busy, wet, dark Edinburgh streets. What a great way to see the ‘other side’ of an awesome gothic city. We loved it and would recommend it to our friends and family!
Unimaginative ghost tour
Suzanne_H, Mar 2024
