Friendly Guide Personalized Tour though Lacked Historical Knowledge

We had a great time with our driver - he fully customized our trip based on our preferences - adding a stop and also skipping a stop because we wanted to return home early for a dinner reservation that night. He was fun and talkative and full of great advice. The only weakness was his lack of historical information. We’re a family of history nerds and would’ve liked more historical context, but his specialty was current information and suggestions. He was prompt and communicative

Jam Packed Amazing Day

Our guide Paul treated us to an amazing day with tons of information , some fun stories and great interaction with the whole family. We loved his direction to act out an early scene from Outlander in Falkland village and getting us in the right spots for pictures on the Old Course at St. Andrews. We had a tight schedule on the day of our visit due to evening plans and Paul was more than willing to accommodate and ensured we got in all the sights and still made it to our evening plans in Edinburgh,

Worst day of our 16 day...

Worst day of our 16 day trip. We booked Luxury transportation (Mercedes or jaguar) for $800 and they sent a taxi cab. I am prone to motion sickness and felt worse and worse during the day. It was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable. Our husbands had to sit in jump seats. Viator should not be allowed to advertise ‘luxury’ and send a taxicab. Once home I will be seeking a refund.

I'm sorry that you had such an awful experience. If you had informed me direct, or even your Driver/Guide that you were so unhappy with the vehicle (at the time), I would have tried to provide an alternative. However, and as you are aware, I authorised your full refund straight away.

Excellent private day trip to St Andrews

Fun day trip from Edinburgh to St Andrews and back. Our guide, Steven arrived on time to pick us up in a nicely maintained and comfortable car and he continued to impress us with his thoughtfulness as the day progressed. Stops on the way to St Andrews and in little fishing villages along the North Sea on the way back to stretch our legs. We had plenty of time to explore St Andrews and have a nice lunch while there. Nicely done, Steven!

Good afternoon, Thank you for your comments and I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your tour. I have spoken to your Driver/Guide who has said that you seemed delighted with the programme, and that you didn't appear to have any issues? The vehicles on the tour are clearly shown as either a Mercedes Minibus OR a Mercedes "E" Class Saloon. As there were only 3 of you on the tour, you were allocated one of our Saloons. However, if you had highlighted at the time that you were unhappy with the luxury car, I would have personally brought you down one of our Minibuses.

Our guide Nick, wearing a Scottish kilt, was waiting for the 4 of us at the pier when our tender let us off. The weather was a little gloomy, but typical. Dumfernline was lovely and quaint, and we enjoyed the best fish and chips lunch EVER at a small local eatery. On to St. Andrews where we saw the beach on which the famous scene from CHARIOTS OF FIRE was filmed. Then my husband, a golf enthusiast (loves to play and watch), got to see first hand the famed St. Andrews golf courses, and got his picture taken on the Swilken bridge. One bucket list item checked for him. Nick was both driver and guide and was excellent at both!
