Decent trip but sleazy characters

We got there before 8 but everyone was forced to stand around for 30 minutes before departure even though our crew wasn’t doing anything at all. When we arrived, we were pressured into “tipping” $45 per crew member before we even met them by the lady at the front, saying it is customary but acted like we had no choice. It was very sleazy and it made us feel bad for wanting to wait. The trip went fine, caught 3 small fish. One guy of the six didn’t even get a chance on the reels and 3 others only got one opportunity. There were only two crew members so some time was wasted setting up reels. Tipped $20 to the two crew members and the captain complained about it being small. Sorry we’re not very wealthy and you’re not happy with your job’s pay.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience with our team. We appreciate our customers feedback and yours is no exception. The gratuity that is charged (20%) upon arrival is clearly stated on our website and the the booking tool that you used Viator. This usual and customary amount is 100% for the crew, as they work on gratuities. You always have the option to increase, decrease or remove the gratuity for service all together. This is also posted at the marina. Our crew typically will tell waiting guests that we need to wait for the bridge to go up so we sit in the marina and leave in time for the bridge when goes up on the hour and half hour only. We ask you to be at the marina at 8 for an 8:30 departure so that paperwork can be completed prior to departure and to ensure we don't miss the 8:30 am bridge. I will review the video and see what was happening on your trip. I can say with certainty, that if a line doesn't get a fish, their isn't anything to reel in, our crew works very hard to get you fish. Each adventure is different and the amount of fish caught is different. Again my sincere apologies that these items were overlooked. We do look forward to seeing you again in the future. Had a great trip. Got a 7’ bull shark along with some small black tuna. Great time. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable.

I had 5 people with me and there were two other people a grandfather and his grandson. 3 of my party were seasick and Dan asked the other two if we can go into the inter coastal since it was rough. The kid wanted to stay so we stayed out there. I hope the 10 year old was a big tipper ! Makes no logical sense but never do that again !!

Hi Eddie, Sorry for your experience but unfortunately on a shared Sportfishing charter we do the best we can for the entire group. In the future a private charter is the way to go so you can do what you want with the boat.
