Overview

Escape to the wilderness of Florida's Everglades on this guided, full-day adventure from Fort Lauderdale. What To Expect

After a morning hotel pickup in the Fort Lauderdale area, it’s off to one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth—the Florida Everglades.

On this naturalist-guided excursion, begin with a spectacular airboat ride over and through the sawgrass prairies and pond apple forests of the Everglades. Then hop in a van for a wildlife drive through the pine savannahs and cypress forests of Big Cypress National Preserve. Look for alligators, turtles, and birds and keep an eye out for the elusive Florida panther. Next, enjoy a nature walk below towering bald cypress trees. Alligators, herons, egrets and dozens of other species can be spotted at any time throughout the year here. Also, less visible but ever-present otters, bears, pigs, deer, and panthers roam the local wilderness.

After lunch, which includes alligator appetizers, hop on board a scenic boat ride into the Ten Thousand Islands mangrove forest in Everglades National Park. This relaxing cruise features manatees, sea turtles, osprey and a variety of other marine life, including the occasional pod of dolphins feeding in the nearby bay.

The tour concludes with a relaxing return trip to the Fort Lauderdale area.

Our guide and driver was excellent with history and marine and animal information. He took time to stop and see alligators, various birds along the road. Gave information regarding stops and the plan which was helpful and keep the group interactive. The airboat swamp tour and boat tour off Everglade Island was great. I would recommend any visitor use this tour. It was a long day, however, if you drove yourself, you would miss the information that was added throughout the tour.

Julio was fantastic! He kept us comfortable, safe, and informed throughout the whole day. The tour never felt rushed and the small group size meant there was plenty of time to ask questions and to enjoy the day at the groups pace. Highly recommend!!!

I was pretty bummed when on the morning of our excursion my husband and I woke up to an overcast sky and a chilly temp. I didn't figure we'd see much. I was wrong! Had a great day with Julio. Saw loads of huge gators, an array of birds, snakes, dolphins and more. All of our guides were extremely knowledgeable. Lunch was terrific. My husband got the fried shrimp and l loved it (and he's picky about his fried shrimp)! I highly recommend this trip. And don't forget to tip your guides!

Our guide Mark was friendly, knowledgeable & all around a really great guide. No hiding how passionate he is about protecting the wildlife & how much he loves it. We were picked up on time and promptly made our way to each stop along with her tour, with Mark’s ‘bad’ jokes and whitty humor entertaining us during the times in between stops. Lunch was excellent & timely & captain Gary was able to give us the perfect ending to our day with the dolphins playing in our wake.

Our guide/driver Julio was AMAZING! After a mixup on pickup he retrieved us and away we went. Airboat, alligators, nature walk and mangroves boat tour were top notch. Also a varied lunch selection was offered. Plus we saw a dolphin during the mangrove boat tour :)

The airboat ride in the Everglades was marvellous! We saw lots of alligators and several different kinds of birds. In the Gulf of Mexico in a different boat we saw dolphins, birds and a downed tree with an osprey nest and 2 eggs. Mark our driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Long day, but we did and saw a lot. I’d like to do this tour again if I return to Fort Lauderdale. PS… the lunch provided was excellent!! ,

The most enjoyable parts of this adventure were the nature walk in The Big Cypress National Preserve and the boat ride through the Ten Thousand Islands' mangrove forests. Our boat captain Aaron got some dolphins to play in our boat's wake, much to the delight of all aboard. Who knew dolphins could surf? And Lia, our driver and tour guide all day was great!

We regret booking this trip through Viator. If we had booked directly with the tour operator we could have saved $45 each and been picked up right at our hotel instead of parking at a Tesla Supercharger site. The tour was very good but our guide, Mark, should have talked much less than he did. He seemed intent on filling up every minute of the drive with observations and exhortations to appreciate all that nature has to offer. Got tiresome after awhile. Most wildlife viewing was various birds while stopping along the highway and looking at the canals.

We enjoyed the trip with the kids. Our guide was knowledgeable, informative and cared about the environment. His customer service was impeccable! We learned about the history of the area, sustainability and a great deal about the birds! But the airboat and a boat rides were incredible. We would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour, Lia are guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Saw heaps of wildlife and guides knew just where to look. Highlight was seeing some baby alligators on some lily leaves.
