What To Expect

Depart from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in a private vehicle for a 2.5-hour drive to Tay Ninh, a city located near the Cambodian border.

Your tour begins at Cao Dai temple for a midday ceremony as your guide offers insight into the rituals performed.

Afterward, sit down for a traditional Vietnamese lunch before you descend into the Cu Chi tunnels — a part of the tour that is not for the faint of heart. Your group will crawl through the narrow passages once used by the Viet Cong. A short film serves up history about the underground military base, and your guide helps you safely explore the tunnels.

At the end of the tour, return to your private vehicle for the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Amazing tour with lovely tour guide!
Anika_S, May 2024
We did the day tour to the Cao dai temple and cu chi tunnels with the friendliest kindest man , Tony. Tony is a 78 year old man who is still so active , so out-going and friendly. He first took us to the Cao Dai temple in Tay Ninh and we stayed and watched a small section of the worship at the temple. He was very lovely and organised throughout the trip. He also spoke to one the ‘priest’ (i think) and he was a really nice Cambodian man who lives in Viet nam within the temple area and he also communicated with Tony and was very welcoming to us and Tony translated what he was saying for us. We then proceeded to the Cu Chi tunnels where Tony explained his memories from the war and told us some facts. He also happened to know well a guide in the cu chi tunnels and communicated well with him and us so we had fun but also learnt about the history of Viet nam. We were 4 ladies travelling and he made us feel safe and comfortable. I would really recommend Tony , he was such a nice local and such a funny guy. It’s nice to see such a welcoming person and shows a good representation of the Vietnamese people we have encountered throughout our trip! We wish him all the best and thank him for making us love Viet Nam! Cảm ơn Tony!!

We were very excited to see the Wildlife Rescue Sanctuary but our guide did not take us there. At first we were told that the Temple and Sanctuary were the same. When we were not convinced, the guide said the sanctuary was "closed forever". We felt cheated by this company.

Was a good tour, the guide was fun. In particular we liked the Cao Dai Temple and cricket farm we visited rather than the wildlife Rescue Station, which was still fun and I tried cricket. Cu Chi tunnels was great as well

My pick up was very late 70mins, due to viator not passing on my hotel details to the operator this meant that we sat in peak hour traffic getting out of Saigon which further shortened our stay at the Cu Chi Tunnels. Besides this, the tour guide very knowledgeable and driver of a private SUV was excellent. The Cao Dai temple and religion was confusing but very interesting. Crawling through the Cu Chi tunnels 70km N of Saigon and talking about the exhibits were a highlight of the trip. The late lunch was enormous and very tasty. We did not visit the Wildlife Rescue station as it was closed that day. Despite the initial problems the tour very pretty good.

Excellent private tour of the Cu Chi tunnels and Cao Dai temple. We also managed a quick visit to the Wildlife Rescue Station, which was the highlight of the trip. I saw a baby gibbon that was absolutely adorable. Our guide Tuan was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable. The only reason we did not rate it five stars is because the lunch was a bit underwhelming. Otherwise, great tour. We recommend it!

I wasn't expecting this to be a private tour, which was a pleasant surprise. We were taken around in a literal private car, as the information says. The W.A.R. station wasn't open, so we were taken to the handicap factory instead which was nice, but wasn't what we really wanted. We were shown how the lacquer was made but people where were handicapped by agent orange, which was really cool. Next, we were taken to the Cao Dai Temple which was an interesting experience. The whole religion of Cao Dai was befuddling to us, so we had to look it up and get more information after the tour. Finally, we went to the Cu Chi Tunnels. That was probably the best part of the tour, but it was horrifying at the same time. We went down into the tunnels, but had to go out as soon as possible because it really induced claustrophobia. The tour guide was really kind, and he was really trying his best to help us understand his country.

The tour guide was pleasant, but we had a slight language barrier. After some confusion around whether the temple was open or not, we did gain access and it was impressive. The driver had trouble finding the Wildlife Rescue Station and there was no one there to educate us about the animals. However, we had a delicious, authentic lunch at a local restaurant and the Cu Chi Tunnels were most interesting. Our guide seemed more knowledgeable about this stop and relayed the information well.

Cu Chi tunnels - great experience Cao Dai - not worth the looong drive Wildlife rescue - looked like a closed zoo. They probably does great things for the animals, but conditions were not good. Our guide was excellent Tour was not private but we were informed of this prior. No discount though

we were not able to join the tour as we were not able to read the PICK-UP time in the Voucher. Would suggest the supplier to send a fax or leave a mail message to guests hotel room for proper endorsement and get the name of the hotel staff who got the message. even though we were not able to go the tour i will still give 5 star as I heard this is a must see place in Vietnam. Hope to visit this place soon.

The tour itself was great, our tour guide had very good English. It did say about spending approximately 2.5hours at the Chu Chi Tunnels however I think in total we were there for about 45 minutes.

Wildlife Rescue Mission was closed. We found out at 10pm the night before the tour. We are still waiting for a credit from the local tour operator. The rest of the tour was ok, but some definite language barriers with local guide

The tunnels were AMAZING! So much history and we crawled through tunnels, ate local food and shot rifles! The Cao Dai temple was beautiful and it was great to see a ceremony in progress. Unfortunately the wildlife rescue station was closed so we saw a workshop instead where the staff were pushy.

We signed up for a group tour but ended up with a private tour of 2! The guide Wang was explained thoroughly the different aspects of the tour and he spoke good English! :) loved the Cuchi tunnels and it was a great learning experience! The wildlife reserve was a nice touch and end to the trip! :)

Not a good experience with the trip. Spent many hours on the road. Rescue station did not have many animals. The guide inside the station was rude and ignoring our group. The temple was just a huge place but that was it. The Cuchi Tunnels was interesting and that was the only place worth visiting. Our guide took us to lunch around 2:00 pm at a restaurant near Cao Dai temple. This was where they take their clients to for lunch. The food was horrible, more like left over food. The restaurant was also dishonest on our drink charge. Would not recommend this tour.

Sandra Maria I, Jan 2015
We did this tour recently but it wasn't what it advertised to be. Having been specified as "private" when it wasn't (we ended up sharing the tour with 2 other people), as well as not going to the Wildlife Rescue Station (which was the main reason for choosing to pay extra to book this tour) was very disappointing considering how expensive this tour was - really get ripped off. The tour guide however was very lovely.
