What To Expect

Make your own way to the Ramen Factory in Kyoto to begin your culinary adventure into the world of ramen. This small-group tour allows you to craft your own delicious bowl of ramen from scratch.

Under the guidance of instructors, learn the complete ramen-making process, from kneading and rolling out the dough for the noodles to mixing the soup and preparing the toppings. Choose from a variety of flavors and toppings to personalize your ramen creation.

This class accommodates vegetarian, vegan, and Halal preferences upon request. Following the enjoyable and educational cooking session, savor the fruits of your labor with a home-cooked lunch featuring your personalized bowl of ramen.

This was a great experience! Hama and Nori were very well prepared before we arrived, and efficient in explaining the plans and running the group of 15 through the steps. As we were completing one step they were tidying away the equipment from the last step and preparing for the next. We got to prepare our own meat, make our dough, roll it and cut it, then make our own soup, cook our noodles and decorate. We then ate our ramen, which meant we didn’t need to find lunch afterwards! Highly recommend this activity. Especially good for a rainy day.

So much fun. Highly recommended. Such a great activity to break up all the Kyoto sightseeing. Kitchen was clean, the entire family enjoyed the experience and the Raman turned out great.

What a fun way to spend a day in Kyoto! The family loved the instructor and chef! They made the experience so easy to feel confident that we could make ramen. The best part was laughing at everything we did as it was all enjoyable. Amazing part is we all made are own noodles by scratch. The close of class allowed us to grab a gift. I was all over the apron!!!! Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!!!

By far one of the most fun classes/tours we have ever taken! Yes, it’s that good! The ladies that run it are so engaging and fun! And also helpful. Fun energy and they help you along the way. They even stop by to take photos! The ramen we made was actually good! I say that because I’m not a good cook! My 16 year old loves ramen and she also agreed this class was 10 out of 10! Out of the bust tourist area and down some steps you’ll be welcomed into a small but super cute classroom. They were ready for us with assigned seating and it was so organized!! I won’t ruin the surprise but at the end there is a super fun surprise (as well as your choice of souvenir; ramen bowl, shirt, apron, shot glass) again, this was a highlight of our time in Kyoto!!!

We added this in and after a day of visiting shrines and temples, as something ‘hands on’ that my teenaged son would enjoy as well as mum and dad. It was great fun to make and ultimately consume our own ramen. Led by the excellent Tommy, she and her colleagues had the process well organised and provided support with a smile wherever it was needed. Our collective highlight was making noodles (and especially rolling the dough). It was something of a surprise that my son had enough left to make them as he seemed to be wearing most of it! This was a really good choice and a fun and informative session. I highly recommend it! Thank you Tommy!

Loved it! One of the best experiences on our trip. So fun, friendly and delicious. Appropriate for all ages; kids will need help with a few things but will still enjoy all of it. You get a lovely momento at the end. Easy to get to on the bus. Highly recommend!

This was fun! Extremely well organized. We went home understanding how to make ramen. So yummy! It’s easy to find the place and there is a wonderful donut shop two doors down if you need dessert! I would highly recommend you add this to your Japan itinerary.
