Smooth sailing in southern Kyoto
nnladieu, May 2024
Amazing, informative journey through southern Kyoto. Jay was a fantastic tour guide. Funny and informative.
Bike ride was okay
Nellie_B, Apr 2024
The bike ride was a very good experience. Like seeing things a little bit from the viewpoint of a local. But some of the parts were a waste of time chitchatting. We could possibly explored one more place but since the others had explored it then we can’t. At least he could given us off time to probably explore it on our own.
Response from Host, May 2024
Hi Nellie, Thanks for joining us on the South tour and for taking the time to write us a review about your experience. We are extremely sorry that the tour was not entirely satisfying in terms of the places visited or the use of time. We do always endeavour to maximize the enjoyment, guidance and content over the whole group but this can occasionally get compromised with distractions and tangential questions.
Best way to see Kyoto
Anisa_V, Apr 2024
Getting around the city on a bike is everything! Such a great way to cover ground. You're staying active while enjoying the views in a very relaxing way. Our tour guide was also an ordained Shinto priest who gave us a fascinating look into the culture, religion and meaning behind the places we visited.
A blissful morning in Kyoto
Gnnadevan_M, Apr 2024
We had a wonderful time riding through the back streets of Kyoto with a wonderful eloquent guide, Jay. He gave us an extraordinary insight into the culture and history of the Gionn district, the shrines and temples we visited. He has even written a book about his integration into the Japanese culture. The tour was at a nice pace for all ages. Would certainly recommend this.
Best way to see Kyoto!

Our bike tour was hands down our favorite experience in Kyoto (and probably all of Japan)! We biked on a less-than-perfect day (chilly and rainy), but the provided gloves and hat, and our fabulous guide, Paul, we had an absolutely brilliant time!
We had a really fun time...

We had a really fun time with Indura. He took us to many wonderful sights and temples, through backroads and to see hidden gems! It was a highlight of our trip.
Quin was amazing

Quin was amazing. This was my first bike tour and I truly felt whole after exploring the city with him. He was very informative on the history of the sites and I enjoyed hearing his personal story in the country as well. I will definitely recommend this tour to my friends. Thank You Quin for a great time!!
Great tour, learned a lot, got a little workout!

Excellent bike tour of Kyoto, our guide Carl couldn’t have been more friendly or knowledgeable. We saw a variety of places, learned a lot, and got some exercise (but not in a super difficult/sweaty way). Great way to see and learn about a bunch of spots in Kyoto.
Fun on a bicycle !

Very fun tour! We visited a number of major Kyoto attractions and even got to see a maiko! Jay is an amazing guide who also helped me make a restaurant reservation! Definitely recommend 😀

Cycling is always the best way to get a round a Japanese city. It’s surprisingly relaxing and less touristy. Our guide showed us a mixture of sights and his own favorite spots. Fantastic value

Essential start top touring Kyōto
Lesley_B, May 2023
This was an incredible introduction to Kyōto. Kevin was an amazing guide and really gave us lots of local color. Great bikes and the streets were surprisingly quiet! He took us a less crowded way through the Tori gates. Highly recommend …
