Overview

Jasmine was a fantastic tour guide. To start, the meeting location was easy to find and a quiet convenient location to leave our vehicle. The drive to the start of the tour was enjoyable and entertaining. The walk through the garden and forest were beautiful. We were able to see many frogs, spiders, birds and even a sloth. Dinner was delicious and the family who prepared it was wonderful, we enjoyed some piano and singing by their son while we ate dinner. Would do this again if I return to La Fortuna.

The tour was excellent - we saw several species of frogs (including poisonous dart frogs), snakes, sloths, and various insects. Kids enjoyed the tour , it was well organized and tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing tour! Collected from out hotel by Kendry. 1-1.5 hour tour where we saw lots of frogs, a mum sloth with her baby, snail eating snake etc! Followed by a delicious meal cooked by a lovely family at their gorgeous home!! Very special evening to remember.

A personal and unique experience

This was one of our best experiences in Costa Rica. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the experience felt intimate and personal. We shared a homemade meal which was wonderful, had great conversation and saw lots of frogs and insects! Highly recommend.

This was a great experience for all, particularly the kids. We saw the expected, frogs and lizards, and were thrilled to see the sloth with baby and ocelot with its meal. Our guide, Harvin, was excellent. The meal was good, but it would’ve been nice to have some flexibility, particularly as it relates to the kids.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful with showing the group things in the rainforest, and with helping us take photos. The dinner was authentic and very delicious. The owner’s grandson played music and sang during dinner, and this was an added treat to the whole experience. I would definitely recommend that you take this tour if you have the opportunity. My friend and I really enjoyed it!!!

Fabulous evening with guide Andres. It was a rainy evening but that didn't stop the enthusiasm and we found various frogs on the walk. Food was delicious and the family were really friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend!

Great wildlife and location

Pickup and drop off from my hotel was was great. Guided through the tour was fun everyone was spotting different insects, birds, reptiles, and even a sloth! The tour guide took pictures of the creatures they found and air dropped them at the end. Food was a classic CR meal and the house and land was gorgeous. I do wish we had more time to explore the trails.

Lovely experience! Wonderful, friendly family run business. Great staff, friendly and funny. They all went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience and point out all the wildlife while keeping us safe. Also helped us get some amazing pictures at no additional cost which was not provided in our other tours. Wonderful authentic Costa Rican meal. The frogs were amazing. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

The guide was excellent and the family was very friendly. The place was beautiful and the trails were easy. We saw a lot of insects and frogs. Surprisingly we saw an armadillo as well! The whole experience was fantastic!

Wonderful experience.... start to finish. Good bus driver; great tour guides; friendly host family; tons of fascinating frogs, spiders, turtles; sloths, and snakes in the jungle garden at night. Bring a good flashlight. Dinner was simple, but delicious.

Josué went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. He made sure we were all comfortable during the night walk, he had rain gear and we were able to see some amazing frogs. The highlight of this experience is the dinner, hands down. We were able to eat as a family in a beautiful home. The hospitality and love that was shown will make this experience special. I definitely recommend booking this experience!

A night walk is a must in Costa Rica. Andres was our guide and he included fun dialogue of CR culture. The family home was wonderful. Everyone very friendly. So glad this was the beginning of our CR adventure. Highly recommend!

This was such a great experience from beginning to end. The guide and transportation provided were wonderful, the walk was very interesting and safe, and the food was both delicious, and able to be made allergy friendly.

Wonderful experience. We saw lots of frogs, baby bird in a tiny nest, colorful bugs, butterflies, and a couple snakes, one being the Fer de lance viper- highly poisonous. Made us a bit nervous but Daniella our guide did a great job with the entire tour. The setting is perfect for observing wildlife, including a garden area, agricultural area and forest. The beautiful home and covered patio were perfect setting. The family served delicious food cooked on a traditiional wood stove- including soup, rice and chicken, yuca, salad, and pink pineapple dessert. Although it was raining some during the hike and a heavy deluge during dinner we were able to stay relatively dry from the plants & trees blocking some of it and the covered patio at dinner. It's about a 40 minute drive from LaFortuna. The walking was about 45 minutes, fairly easy trail. Wear non slip shoes, pack your rain gear, folks with mobility issues should bring a walking stick for some gentle inclines. We were able to stop in the middle for our 87 year old grandpa to go in the home and sit instead of going into the forest section. The family who operate this beautiful property are very accomodating. We had a group of 11 and we all were together for the walk & dinner. Great experience.
