Overview

Get up close to Costa Rican wildlife on this morning safari float along a river beneath imposing Volcan Arenal. Be prepared to get wet as you’ll be in an inflatable vessel, close to the water. Look out for animals including sloths, snakes, and a variety of birds. Take a short hike to an organic farm, where you’ll collect your lunch ingredients.

Don't Expect to See Animals

This wasn't a great experience. Our tour guide Sara seemed to be in a hurry to get it over with. We saw other safari floats from other companies on our way and they were stopping so that they could get a close up look at animals. Sara ridiculed the other tour guides and how they were stopping at every single creature (which is what we wanted to do because it's a SAFARI). Meanwhile we never stopped when we saw something interesting, which wasn't much because Sara didn't point out anything that wasn't already obvious. At one point, we came across a different safari float tour guide checking out bats in a tree and he motioned for Sara to let us see it, but she didn't even stop in the spot for us to see bats. The same happened with an owl other people were looking at. Suffice to say, at the end of the tour, everyone in my group wished we had booked a different safari float.
Wonderful way to spend a few hours

This was a fun relaxing adventure. Drifting down the river was serene and beautiful. Sara did a great job answering so many of our questions. The lunch and farm tour were an added bonus!
Nice but no wildlife spotted

It was nice, no effort float on the river but didn't see any wildlife. Kids enjoyed the raft since they are too young for real rafting. Lunch and snack were nice too.
A Perfect Excursion

Our guide, Jimmy, was wonderful! He was knowledgeable, friendly and was able to show us so many interesting animals and plants. We saw a sloth, howler monkeys, toucans, a coati, and so many native birds as we paddled along the river. He told us so much about the trees and plants. Our stop for the fruit break was very special and at the end the Costa Rican lunch was delicious! Jimmy made the whole trip so much fun. This safari float is a great value for the cost!

amazing trip the river was beautiful to float down. we saw lots of howler monkeys and birds. tour guides stopped and let us swim in the warm water and offered a fruit snack. be sure to wear your bathing suit if you want to go swimming and bring water shoes as it’s a pebble river bottom

It was wonderful experience. Our guide Warner/Tala was very informative and nice person. During the floating he showed us a lot of animals. We saw Snapping Turtle, Spectacular Owl, Howler Monkeys Capuchin Monkeys (white face), Iguana and Rainbow Bio Tucan. After he served us pineapple and took to the restaurant where we had tasty dinner. Warner even made Costa Rican coffee for us. Then we went to the nearby farm, where he showed us how to make sugar cane juice and we enjoyed Costa Rican liquor with sugar cane and toast. We enjoyed our day fulfilled with different activities.
