Our morning in Livorno spent with Laila was amazing. Truly the highlight of the excursions while we were on our cruise.The passion and enthusiasm Laila has for her home is infectious. We sampled local specialties and learned about the colorful history of Livorno. Everything was delicious. The torte was simple but absolutely delicious. They also gave us the recipe so I'm going to try to make here at home. The local drink ponce was also amazing - and I don't even like rum! I wish we could have spent more time there and would love to go back. Thanks so much Laila! You are a treasure.

Livorno food and culture

Laila looked afterwards really well. Obviously proud of her town and culture. This showed through everywhere she took us. Excellent food and drink tasting. Recommended!

Walking Foodie and Market Tour of Livorno with Laila

Our tour guide Laila was terrific. Excellent English, friendly, helpful, and knows her way around Livorno and the local markets and food scene. She paced the tour just right for my wife and myself and only one other senior couple from the UK. Not an excessive amount of walking [especially for older folks], adequate time spent at restaurant locales and the Central Market, and a visit to a beautiful cathedral. Laila also spent time explaining the history of the Venice-type of canal system that is centuries old and a remarkable sight to behold. All in all, a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon in Livorno. Highly recommended!

Fascinating and tasty time in Livorno

We had a wonderful time learning about the history and food of Livorno from Laila. Delicious snacks, fascinating sites, lovely and funny host. It was great! (The only caveat: we were fully satisfied with the amount of food, but know that you won’t be stuffed like on some food tours. If that’s your goal, you should get double portions!)

Laila provided an informative tour in a natural, fun way. Since she is a local citizen it was very interesting to hear her excitement and prospective. We met locals in the market and got to taste many delicious treats and learned about their history. I’d recommend this tour to anyone. Many thanks for this wonderful experience.

The tour guide was excellent. Only issue was this was to be a private tour with no more than 8 individuals. We had 11 people on our tour which is too large of a group to walk around the narrow streets and bust crossings of Livorno

Lila, who was born in Livorno, was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the town, and all of the foods. She took us to several places for various types of food and drinks. You won’t need lunch after, but we did anyway. We too a cab to Sama Beach Club. It’s a 15 minute cab ride with great food right on the water. Spectacular!
