This was the best tour of our trip. Our tour guide, Stefani, grew up in the region and was extremely knowledgeable, giving us lots of information along the way. Both Volterra and San Gimignano are stunning, the wine tasting was great and it was wonderful to get to see so much Tuscany countryside during our drive.

Francesco was a great guide! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour through Tuscany and loved the beauty, shops and experience in San Gimignano and the panoramic views, wines and accompaniments at Fattoria Poggio Allora farm and winery.

Stefanie was the best tour guide we ever could have asked for! She was so full of knowledge of this region and it truly showed throughout the entire day. She was a joy to talk to and even more so to listen to. Would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a non-cruise affiliated excursion because the pick up and drop off to the cruise port were prompt and reliable! The driver was also very handsome

Amazing day wine tasting in Tuscany! The winery was gorgeous and they gave us so many different wines to try and a plate of snacks. I wish we had even more time to spend at the winery. The visits to San Gimignano and Volterra were interesting, the bus ride back was about an hour and was a very twisty road.

The perfect way to see the Tuscan countryside

We had the perfect day in the Tuscan countryside. Each stop was just the right amount of time to visit and learn about the area as well as to grab a bite or do a little shopping. The views were breathtaking and Alice, our guide, was extremely personable and knowledgeable. Ending the day at the winery was educational and relaxing and provided a time to get to know the others on the tour that we hadn't already. The wine tasting allowed us to unwind for the ride back. The bus was air conditioned and very comfortable (although I wouldn't recommend this excursion for those prone to motion sickness as some of the roads into the towns are quite bumpy and winding).

Great Tour! Our tour leader, Alice was knowledgeable and friendly. This was a smaller tour so it felt more personal. The wine tasting and farm experience was really nice. The views of the countryside were just what we were looking for. Really loved San Gimignano and Volterra.

Volterra and San Gimignano were breathtaking. Exceptional. The winery was beautiful (I don't drink, but took this tour for the chance to see the 2 towns mentioned, the Tuscany countryside and to keep the wife happy lol). Tour guide was very good. Tuscany is beautiful. Tour was 9-hours which is as long as it could realistically be given the arrival/departure times of the cruise ship(s). It allowed us free time of about an hour in Volterra and 1.5 hours in San Gimignano. Enough time for wine-tasting and a short tour of the winery. It's not a complaint - but the description of this tour is a little ambiguous and that's the only slight negative. It mentions a lunch at the winery. Then further down it states includes snacks. There's no lunch at the winery, only a few snacks to go with the wine-tasting. Other than that - the tour is great. Thank you from New Zealand.

Thanks kindly for your comments! Happy to know the day went well and you kept the wife happy. Thanks also for the heads-up about conflicting information regarding the winery. The part of the description that mentions lunch being included is written by Viator (and dates back to a time when there was a different formula at the winery that did include lunch). We don't have the ability to edit that text so we'll contact Viator to have the discrepancy remediated.

Wonderful We met our Driver at the parking lot Carlo our driver was very nice very helpful and made sure we were back to our cruise on time. We met four new friends from our same cruise. Beautiful drive to the country side Stopped at a winery, wine tasting then to the most beautiful old towns San Gimignano and Volterra Beautiful views

Wonderful! We had the best day with Sylvia! She was a great guide! This tour was such a great way to see Tuscany without trying to navigate ourselves! The wine tasting and lunch was great. The small group atmosphere was perfect. Sylvia knows the area so well and was very knowledgeable and kind. We highly recommend!!

A charming tour with great wine

Lovely experience in the Tuscan countryside and the small cities of San Gimignano and Volterra. The wine was delicious- we ordered two bottles and a bottle of truffle oil. The winery staff was charismatic and kind. Even some rainy weather didn’t dismay us. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Italy!

Easily our best tour of the trip!

We took a small group tour on a cruise ship port call in Livorno. Due to our ship arriving later than originally planned, our tour was rearranged at the last minute, but we wound up with a great visit. We had plenty of time in each of the locations. The wine was great and we enjoyed walking around to see the two towns. San Gimignano was beautiful and charming, but we liked Volterra better, as it's a bit more compact and less frequently visited. A highly recommended tour!

We enjoyed this tour tremendously! Daniele put together a great wine tasting experience and cultural adventure into Tuscany. Our guide Giovanni was the perfect choice due to his family ties in the region. He shared his life long knowledge of the families, culture and traditions. His narration while travelling was fascinating and interesting. He also was a safe, conscience and good driver with a lot of patience. He took us first to San Gimignano. He gave us a brief history of the city and explained the significance of the towers. Then we did an incredibly gorgeous wine tasting nearby and went on to Volterra, the city of Alabaster. The whole tour accompanied by the wonderful guide Giovanni was just stunning. This is really the best way to experience the Toscan landscape and two famous villages plus a wine tasting in one day! Highly recommended!

We had an amazing time with Marco! He picked us up at the port where our cruise ship came in and from the start was very friendly and informative. Our drive through the Tuscan countryside was nothing short of spectacular; great views everywhere you looked. We stopped at a small coffee shop on the way to the winery, just to get out and appreciate the views (and have an espresso, of course). When we were ready, Marco took us to the winery where we sampled about 10 different wines, their olive oils, and a small snack plate (sausage slices, bread, and a small salad). I think we were at the winery for around an hour or hour and a half, which was just about perfect; we didn't feel rushed at all. When we were ready to leave, Marco drove us to San Gimignano where he showed us around and then let us wander the town for 90 minutes or so. Then off to Volterra for the same pattern. On the way back to our cruise ship, Marco answered all of our questions about the area and we had a nice conversation. Overall, I can't recommend this highly enough. Marco was just about the best tour guide we could have asked for, the countryside was outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the winery and in both towns. We'd definitely do this again!

Marco our driver/guide was courteous and a good driver. We did three stop. Each of them was precious, while driving and passing some special area , we were made aware. The winery was excellent with a little tour prior the testing, the surrounding was postal card all around. The visit after of 2 UNESCO sites was priceless, Sam Gimignano and Volterra, ouch....
