Florence is a beautiful place to visit. Our guide and driver all are very good. We were late to came back to bus due to the Uffizi tour guide gave us wrong info. So all of us run as Olympic runners to back to bus. :)) Luckily our bus were waiting for us. The bus finally back to ship directly so we do not need to take shuttle bus back to ship. Thank you!

Great day out to Florence from Livorno spent about 5 hours in the city A walking tour of the main sites included Back in plenty of time for the ship The only issue was we were told to look for staff in red but they were wearing green

Easy transfer to Florence

The transfer bus was only 30 meters behind the cruise ship shuttle. The bus was parked near the train station. One has to walk 20 minutes to the Cathedral. At the end of the day, we were dropped off at the cruise ship terminal.

Very unorganized tour and I would not recommend Viator for my clients on cruises.

This was my first time booking Viator and I am also a travel agent. The experience was not pleasant. First, I thought we had booked a small van transfer for 6-8 people. Instead, it was a large bus for a round 60 people. We were supposed to leave Livorno at 9:45 am but could not get on the first bus because the operator was selling tickets and not allowing the reserved prepaid passengers on the bus. We had to wait for the 2nd but that left at 10:20 instead. We were supposed to be back at the ship at 5:15 but because of the unorganized outbound we did not leave Florence till 4:30, getting us back at the boat at 6:00, which caused stress for everyone.

Florence was one of the most beautiful cities we’ve ever explored! It was so nice to have the option to venture on your own. Upon return, we were supposed to be dropped off to Livorno Center to take a transfer shuttle back to port, but since we were tight on time, our guide and driver were accommodating and brought us directly back to port! I prefer independence when touring cities so this Livorno to Florence transfer was perfect & the price beat the cruise line’s offer & had more time in Florence. Guides were pleasant & bus was clean. Would definitely take any Viator excursion.

Our bus driver and tour person were very nice and the tour person was very funny. We were told our tour would start at 9:45 am but that morning we received a txt saying we needed to be at the meeting place at 9:00 am. So we really had to hop to it!

We loved this transfer to Florence for the day. Our ship docked late but the bus was still waiting for us all. We left as soon as possible and we were given 5.5 hours of free time in the city. Our pickup and drop off point were the same. The guide was informative and even gave us private phone numbers in case of emergency. We left right on time to return to ship. Drivers both ways were excellent. We had a double decker bus and it was clean and modern and comfortable. They dropped off right at ship so we didn’t have to do that port shuttle.

Disorganized but pleasant

The beginning of the tour was very disorganized. You were able to purchase tickets on the spot but they didn’t have a dedicated person, which took away another staff member who was trying to direct passengers to the unlabelled buses and also answer questions. Once we finally got on the road it was much better. Drop off/pick up point times and places were simple and direct. Our guide Marina was awesome. She made sure everyone understood where they were meeting and checked in on us during the bus ride. They also dropped us right back at our ship which was great.

The description of the excursion was inaccurate. It said the bus would pick up directly from the port, which was not the case. It said that a walking tour was included, but the guide said it was 5 euro each additional. We did not do that because, frankly, that particular guide was not informative or engaging. His dialog during the 1.5 hour trip was choppy and not informative about Florence at all. The drop off and pick up location was very awkward and out of the way. We were told the return trip would be with another guide, but upon arriving at the bus, he had no record of us. He would have denied our boarding but I had a picture with his name and number on it. They did get us back to the ship on time. It was a reasonably priced transfer.

Very straight forward. From cruise ship take port shuttle bus to town centre 15 mins (if bus stops elsewhere in port, stay on bus) Where you get dropped in town, look for green t shirt staff, they check you in, and direct you to your bus. Straight to Florence it took about 1hr 20 mins, good info given on the way. Drop off is behind train station. We took the tour, was great. Lunch then freetime. Back to collection point early to be safe, then quickly returned to port.

The tour guide was unengaging. The wait for the bus was an hour, a waste to time for cruisers who only have 13 hours onshore. The drop off point in Florence was too far from the town wasting another half hour walking to and from the bus. There were too many times waiting around for others to get organized before the tour can resume: going to the toilet, meeting in town (walking to town through stores is not a good idea). As a result of this we decided to forego our tour with the guide and did it on our own instead.

We really enjoyed our day in Florence which was made stress free with this excursion from Livorno to Florence. After taking a shuttle bus from the ship to city center (7 euros/pp roundtrip), we met our group and was transported via motorcoach to Florence. Along the way, our tour guide gave some info about the area and also gave clear instructions of where and when to meet for the return trip to our ship. This excursion was exactly what we were looking for to have a fun, unstructured day walking around Florence!
