What To Expect

Meet your guide in Aldgate East, London, and set off by foot to discover the history of London’s most feared and infamous murderers—Jack the Ripper.

The tour is centered around Whitechapel, the epicentre of the ripper’s many murders in the late 19th century. While today the neighborhood is a vibrant multicultural place, Whitechapel in Jack the Ripper’s day was one of the East End’s most impoverished districts. Using handheld RIPPER-VISION™ devices, you’ll see projections of the Whitechapel streets as they were in Victorian times when the Ripper’s reign of terror took place.

After just over 1.5 hours of exploring and hearing facts and theories about the prolific serial killer, your tour ends near Spitalfields Market.

Educational and immersive. Better than a documentary.

Very interesting and educational if not macabre and morbid. Alan our guide really helped immerse us in the experience. We went in April and it was perfect because we started in daylight and ended after dusk. I’d suggest no later than late April if possible for the best experience after dusk.

We loved this tour! Our tour guide was Robb and he was great! He clearly knew his stuff on the Ripper history and the projector is a great idea to show how things looked back then. Robb was a great narrator / tour guide - he speaks very well, at a good pace and projects his voice for all to hear.

Not a good experience

Rob, our guide seemed like a nice guy, but didn't hold our interest. We stayed for an hour of the tour but left as it was cold and the story was choppy and didn't flow. After the first full hour of the tour, all we learned, was a small amount of information about three of the murders and one of the suspects. We saw some interesting slides, but there needed to be more information given at each stop and better story telling.

Great tour! Jamie is a wealth of knowledge! Highly recommended, please be aware that it is quite factual so if you take your kids along there are some very detailed descriptions of the murders, but Jamie does let you know when these are coming up.

Fun London Tour

We enjoyed the tour and Alan was a fun guide. The Jack the Chipper restaurant very near the meeting point has good fish and chips and is very casual if you arrive early. I was expecting something a little nicer outside the Whitechapel Art Gallery that I would recognize as a meeting place. I thought the description stated there was to be a statue or fountain where we would meet. There is not anything like that, but there was a sign and guides outside directing people so it was fine. The tour does begin in a rougher area of London than I had visited before, but I did not feel unsafe since it was not too late and there were lots of people around. I was glad that I had a companion with me, but I enjoyed seeing an area of London that I would have missed otherwise.

Transported back in time

My friend and I love true crime story, and this was on our list coming to London. We absolutely loved this tour. You learn so much about the general history of Jack the Ripper and getting to see some of the original streets and buildings was super cool. You feel like you are transported back into those days. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and give us his story of who he thinks did it and it was very believable. 10/10 recommend!

Andre was an amazing guide. Super passionate about the history of Jack the Ripper and he made the tour interesting and immersive. It was great to see these back alleys of the East End in a way I probably wouldn’t have just walking around the area during the day. I learned so much I didn’t know!

Wonderful tour guide that can make you feel transported back to the history of 1888. His acting prowess became better through the tour with a finale to leave you pondering if the murders might be solved one day. I wasn’t impressed with the Ripper Vision projector but it could be a cool tool if brighter, clearer, and projected on better surfaces.
