This was definitely a highlight of our trip!! We were fortunate to have Lunia and her beautiful family as our host chef for the evening. She met us in Lucca and took us to a few local marketplaces, teaching us a bit of history and learning about the foods. From there, we went up to her beautiful home, high up in the mountains. The ambiance was perfect and really enjoyed spending the evening with her and her son, later joined by the rest of her family. She is an incredible chef and allowed all of us to partake in the food-making that evening. I went in skeptical and would now recommend everyone try this experience when in Italy!! It is one for the memory books!

The mammas who taught us were so gracious. They were attentive but had us do the cooking. The table was beautifully set and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend this experience.

We had the best time cooking pasta with Novella and Marco. They were so friendly and funny, it really made our time in Lucca very enjoyable. Novella opened up her home and made us feel part of the family. The food was amazing and we can’t wait to go back home and show what we’ve learned. Must do in Lucca!!

This can’t even be rated -10 maybe. The most memorable.. you’re kidding. The whole thing was the worst. We walked out. What is memorable is my wife’s anger and disappointment. Was suppose to be a highlight for her. Completely unacceptable. I’ve travelled the world and utilized Hosts and services globally. Never have I felt so ripped off to this Extreme. I’ll be writing my reviews, included will be everyone involved. Viator included My wife and I were bait & switched. There was no Mama, no Papa either- The host was not the normal host but a kid who knew nothing. Could not even open a bottle of wine.

Wonderful Experience

We loved Lucina and her family! They were warm and welcoming. We laughed most of the evening and were entertained by stories of the family. Our family made ravioli and a noodle with pesto, along with Taramasu. Lucina corrected a few of our misunderstandings with making pasta. Making pasta is a labor of love and our family cannot wait to prepare it when we arrive home. I cannot recommend Lucina and her family highly enough (The experience was truly a family affair).

Spending the evening in Antoinette’s home was one of the highlights of our trip. Our translator was excellent and we not only learned some authentic recipes and had a delicious meal but also felt we learned so much about the local area and people. Highly recommend this experience.

A truly Incredible and memorable experience to be brought into this family's home for the cooking class! Viator sent the wrong information for our meeting point but the host was gracious and had her Dad pick us up, the class waited for us to arrive before starting so we didn't miss anything. A warm and friendly experience with food prepared that was out of this world GOOD! Delizioso!!!

BOOK THIS!!! This was the most amazing experience of our trip. You are actually cooking in Antionette’s home using her grandmothers recipes. There is a translator. You eat in their home with their authentic ingredients (homemade anchovies) along with what you made during the class. Do not hesitate to book this and in fact she should charge more.

My daughter and I took part in the pasta and tiramisu making class and can't recommend it highly enough. It was lovely to be in a typical Italian home just outside Lucca with another 4 participants. We were taught how to make the tiramisu first to allow it to mature, then followed making pasta from scratch........not difficult just a little time consuming. We made ravioli and fazzoletti. After making both the tiramisu and pasta we moved outside to eat them at a communal table, which was laden with food the Mama had pre-prepared. The food we'd made was delicious and we were able to take some back to our accommodation, along with a copy of the recipes. The experience was wonderful and will stay in our memories.

This could not have been any better! Anti and Piero were models of gracious hosts and Lily the translator was also just superb! The whole experience was an 11 on a scale of 1-10! We felt like part of their family when it was time to say goodbye! The actual pasta making portion was augmented with Tiramisu and Bruscetta - all just sensational as Anti is passionate about the use of high quality, organic and local ingredients. This is what travel is all about! This brief immersion into the life of a local Lucchese family will be with us forever! Thank you for a great day!

We had such an amazing experience doing this cooking class! Great recipes were taught, lovely company and great location. Initially had some trouble finding the place due to the incorrect location provided by Viator on the ticket. The morning of I received the correct location, via whatsapp and we were collect from Lucca centre which was amazing!!!! We did the lunch cooking class, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. So accommodating, and so much lovely / delicious food. We learnt so much about pasta in Lucca, we had a great teacher. Lots of left overs to enjoy later. We would highly recommend this as a half day experience 😊

I’ve no idea how to capture the range of emotions here. Monica and Paulo transported us on a magic carpet of taste and senses. We picked fresh figs off their tree, foraged for herbs and rolled them in our fingers to release their scents. We ate locally produced sausage, goats cheese from the English woman up the hill, Prosecco from the North that the family buy in bulk and bottle to share this rare treat. We made two types of pasta and dredged it in fresh homemade tomato sauce. We ate like Queens, laughed, indulged our senses and celebrated. Truly we were family for the day. I can’t put a price on the magic Monica crafted. I and my friends are blessed to have shared this time.
