What To Expect

Touring by bike gives you the agility to explore tucked-away sites, combined with the speed to cover more ground than walking. After meeting your guide, you’ll be fitted for a high-quality bike, helmet and safety vest. Take a practice spin around a quiet area before hitting the road. Melbourne is a very bike-friendly city with many well-marked bike paths; however, you may also ride on the street at times. Let your guide know your interests as they can customize the tour to suit the groups desires.

We went to the wrong bike...

We went to the wrong bike company and missed the tour. Our operator was so kind to refund our money and suggest places for us to visit on our own. Hope to use him another time.

Missed opportunity - no communication

The cruise ship was late and I didn’t know how to contact the provider- when I got to the bike shop (designated meeting point) thinking maybe I could catch up with them or even Just take the bike out to explore on my own - the place was locked up!

Great tour of the downtown core. Saw lots and the guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable about the city. Only issue we had was it was too hot and there should have been more breaks and the pace should have been slowed down to accommodate the people that were struggling. Overall a good experience.

We loved this tour! It took about 5 hours in total because we had a little bit larger group. It provided a great overview and introduction to Melbourne. There was a great mix of sites to see and historical information. The bikes were easy to use and the hills were few and moderate. Peter is a great guide, very knowledgeable and balanced a good amount of riding with just right amount of conversation. Make sure to eat a good breakfast. Our tour began at 10am and we didn’t eat lunch until 2:30pm. Loved Brunetti’s stop for gelato and pastries! Highly recommend this tour!!

We had a great tour with Craig. Very informative and interesting. A nice steady pace that reflected the larger group. Fun people to explore with. Our group of 6 would have preferred spending less time eating and more time exploring. (Skip the coffee or the lunch). Bike trips are so useful for getting oriented to new cities. And this was perfect.

Great way to see the most of Melbourne. Matilda was awesome getting us through the city and showing us hidden gems we would never find. Loved riding through the botanical gardens and seeing a couple of neighborhoods outside the city center.

While we covered a lot of ground and saw some amazing sights, there was difficulty hearing the leader as she described what we were looking at and little time to snap any photos. The group was to big to gather up so all could hear. Might a microphone help? Need more help with check in and bathroom before we leave. There was two large groups and not enough bikes set out. It was a good workout for me!

Melbourne - An interesting tour

David was an extremely courteous, helpful and informative guide. His pro Melbourne and anti Sydney dialogue was most amusing. He provided an interesting insight on all aspects of Melbourne's development and an interesting insight on Australian current affairs and past history. This was probably most moving when visiting ANZAC war memorial. However the start of the tour and issuing bikes and was bedlam and I had to pump up my own tyres to correct pressures. In defence of the organiser there was a particularly disruptive family with young children being quite unmanageable !

Geoff was informative and humorous showing us many sporting venues and local areas including the huge Victoria Market, most of which we probably wouldn't have seen or enjoyed as much without his knowledge and guidance. Following one of his suggestions, we took a guided tour at the Shrine of rememberance which we would highly recommend.
