Please specify hotel at time of purchase. We pick up in New Orleans at any hotel, Bed & Breakfast or select Airbnbs, uptown (close to St. Charles Ave.), in (or close to) the French Quarter, and on the Westbank. We do not pick up by the airport, in New Orleans East, in Slidell, or on the North Shore. Supplier will contact you the day before your tour to give you an exact pick up time.

What To Expect

Choose the morning or afternoon for your small-group airboat adventure and enjoy pickup from your downtown New Orleans or French Quarter hotel. Once aboard the air-conditioned van, settle into a comfortable seat for the ride to your launch site deep in Cajun Country. Enjoy lively onboard commentary about the history and culture of the area from your guide as you leave the city behind for the wild wetlands.

Upon arrival, take a seat on the small airboat and hold on as the boat takes off for your tour. Enjoy close proximity to the water surface and warm breezes as you zip through secluded bayous, reaching speeds of up to 45 mph (72 kph). Spot alligators, snakes, beavers, and giant river rodents called nutria lurking in the waterways. Savor the moments of calm when the boat slows and your native captain shares stories about the area’s history and abundant wildlife.

Your bayou adventure ends with a return to your hotel by van, arriving in early afternoon or evening.

We saw alligators even though it was a cold day. It was fun looking for them everywhere. The driver stopped the boat whenever one was spotted. And the various birds we saw were so beautiful. I could do the tour all day. We had a blast

The tour was excellent. We were picked on time by a very nice van. The Swamp Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The guides knew where the alligators were and got us very close to them. We also saw many bald eagles and other birds. We had a great time.

Great guide who was full of fun facts! Saw several alligators even though it was February. Also saw several different kinds of birds including bald eagles. Fun for a adventurous family of four!

Might have been good but cancelled

We took Lyft to our pick up location, arriving early fir our 0845 pick up. At 0900 contacted vendor and van arrived 0905. 15min into the drive to the swamp destination, the tour was cancelled due to weather (light rain). 2 good things: - refund was prompt - there are so many things to do in New Orleans, we didn’t have difficulty filling our time.

A Fun Ride

We were lucky to have warm sunny weather, so flying over the water at 40 mph felt great! At one stop the captain invited a small gator to jump on the boat. If that sounds too scary, then make sure you don’t sit in the front row. Overall a fun time, and we really appreciated the hotel pickup!

This tour was so much fun! We were picked up right out front of our hotel in Downtown New Orleans. Our driver was very sweet and the bus was clean and air conditioned. Once we arrived at the swamp, our tour guide was very nice and informative. We rode on the airboat “Snot Rocket” which was loads of fun! We saw over 8 alligators and saw them as close as safely possible. It was awesome! Definitely recommend this tour for all age groups… kids, families, seniors, adults. 10/10

1 hour 15 mins, mostly talking on a stationary airboat! Not enough traversing the inlets, very little higher speeds? We were unfortunate to pick a cool day, so saw no gators or wildlife.

Oh yes, Ms Sharon, it was cold and dreary last Friday and we definitely see many more alligators, turtles, nutrias and tropical birds when the temperature is above 70 degrees! Your airboat captain compensated by giving more explanations and stopping places in the swamps to talk about the wildlife you could not see in the cold. Also airboats will go fast but are not speed boats and safety is always the primary concern for our captains!
