Such an amazing experience!! We saw lots of dolphins on the way out to the cage. The waves were intense but there were lots of sharks and they were so close. The crew was also very knowledgeable and wonderful. Highly recommend!!

Bad experience!

The provider called a couple of days before the scheduled 11am May 1st, 2024 excursion and said they will be cancelling the 11 am trip because of the weather and rough seas. They tried to get me to do the 8am excursion but I told them we just got to Hawaii and have a rental car scheduled for pick up at 8am the morning of the 1st and could not make the 8am new time. They said OK and would get back with me. They called me at 4:45pm the night before (April 30th) and said they are cancelling the 11am trip because of rough seas. I told them I have had this excursion booked for a year and this was my bucket trip list! They said sorry and asked if I wanted to cancel and they would send me a refund in 24-48 hours which I said yes because I cannot get out of my car rental (excursion is 60 minutes from our hotel in Waikiki). I hurried to scramble to find another shark cage excursion and I found one at 4:55pm and it was for the next day May 1st at 10am. I received a call from the 1st provider about 15 minutes later and she said they were going to keep my 11am appointment and they would move the other people going earlier to my trip! I said I had found another excursion and to still cancel my original reservation. I believe they didn't have enough for my 11am original excursion so that is why they wanted me to move my time but she said it was for the "rough seas". When we got to our new 10am excursion, the boat captain said that this day on the water only happens 2-3 times the entire year that the water was so calm! I am not going to book with the original provider again or recommend them. Bill Ellison

We booked this last minute because our original tour operator cancelled due to poor weather conditions. While the ocean was pretty rough, making it more difficult than I would have liked to view the sharks, it was still totally worth it (way better than not getting a chance to go at all). Lots of Galapagos sharks circling right next to the cage, plus we also got to see some whales breaching not too far from the boat as well. Very informative and friendly crew. The professional photo package was a nice add-on as well.

My husband and I had so much fun doing this! I would absolutely go again in a heartbeat. Nellie and our boat captain (Trevor, I believe) were very personable. We had a thorough safety briefing about the boat and then we were good to go. There were families on the tour with us but it was still a small group of about 10 people if I recall. Everyone had a great time and the Galapagos sharks did not disappoint! We saw multiple sharks the entire time we were in the cage, and at one point I counted 8 of them around us. I believe we were in the cage for approximately 45 minutes because everyone was able to go in at the same time. This was my favorite thing I did on my trip to Hawaii and we had a blast. The cage made us feel very safe while getting to see the sharks. I can’t recommend this enough for kids and adults!!

Excellent from start to finish. Only 4 of us on this small group trip, really well looked after by the crew. Plenty of sharks really close up and about 45 minutes in the cage, highly recommended.

Life changing shark adventure

This adventure was amazing. The captain and crew are knowledgeable and professional. I saw Jaws at a very impressionable age and the idea of swimming with sharks was sketchy at best. The crew puts you at ease and although the water was pretty choppy I felt very safe. The sharks were majestic! They are so graceful swimming feet from you in impossibility blue water. The water was crystal clear and visibility was 20-30 yards. It is clear that sharks have more to fear from us than we do of them. I am not an environmentalist and would hate as a fisherman to lose a catch to a shark but it is clear that these creatures need to be protected from indiscriminate slaughter. There needs to be better ways to harvest our oceans and protect this vital resource. I encourage you to give this a try. This is a local company and they have quite a bit of knowledge about the North Shore.

This was an amazing experience! One of my favorites from our time in Hawaii! The company is a small local company so the tours are max 14 people. Groups of 7 people get in the cage at a time. You get about 20-30 minutes in the cage and it is more than enough time. The ocean is wavy with the distance from the shore on this tour so I recommend two things: - there is a higher chance of seasickness. My husband has only been seasick (nauseous) twice in his life and once was on this tour. Prepare ahead of time - be prepared for the cage to rattle around. According to our guides, we were out on one of the calmer days and it was still wavy waters. This is just how it is that far out and it doesn’t change the experience If you book this tour and try to reschedule, do not do it with Viator! I did and they never sent my change to the company for approval. Luckily, I reschedule with Viator to a day earlier (on Thursday) and didn’t replace it with anything on Friday so we could still go to the tour on the originally scheduled day … but it could’ve been a disaster.

My family is still talking about this adventure. We saw a lot of sea life - sharks. The cage was fun, safe, but we definitely had to hold on as the water tossed us around a little in the cage. We didn’t get seasickness and the teens got some great pics and want to come back in the future. Thank you!

The experience was better than expected. I took my little one with me and she was very nervous about getting in the water with sharks. She got in the cage from the boat with no problems. Seeing the little one enjoying this amazing experience made me really happy. We felt pretty safe the whole time. The sharks were incredible. Definitely an experience you must live in person. Parking is free and they sell UV shirts as well as t-shirts (a little expensive but, what isn't expensive in Hawaii? Right). Next time I will do it cage free.

We were unable to go on the excursion because the captain didn't want to make the trip for a group of only 2, although we were allowed to book just us two. They wanted us to come in an earlier group which didn't fit with our schedule so they canceled our excursion.

Great staff ! Super small group so it’s great, you can ask any questions about the Shark dive or anything to do with the island (hikes, food, beaches, etc.) and they’re super friendly and knowledgeable. Make you feel very welcomed. Great amount of sharks to see Including whales on the way.
