What To Expect

Your one-way cruise starts in either central Perth or Fremantle, where you’ll board your boat and take off along the Swan River. Listen to narration and enjoy provided tea and coffee on board as you admire views of the downtown skyline of Perth, as well as the homes, parks and yacht clubs that line the river.

Travel in either direction between Perth and Fremantle, a historical port city located at the mouth of the Swan River, where it meets the Indian Ocean. Drinks can be purchased from the onboard bar.

Relaxing ride to Fremantle

Visiting from the US and staying in Northbridge. I wanted to visit Fremantle and thought the ferry sounded like a relaxing way to get there. Enjoyed seeing Perth from a different angle and enjoyed the narration from the crew. It did get a little boring at some points as we were just traveling down the river with nothing really to look at but river so I opted to take an Uber back to my hotel rather than return on the ferry.

Viator is a difficult company to deal with. I wanted to book a one-way ticket from Perth to Fremantle. I was charged for a return ticket. When I turned up at the ferry and discovered what had happened nobody was able to help me cancel the unwanted return ticket. The online booking site was most unclear.. The confirmation said one-way OR Return so there was no way of telling what had been paid for. 3 messages sent after confirmation from Captain Cook Cruises which were absolute gobbledygook, gave no indication as to whether the tickets paid for were one-way or return. Refund has been unreasonably denied for the return ticket which was never going to be used as we returned to Perth from Fremantle by train as was always intended. Booking No BR-1095520327

Somewhat boring and the commentary was less than exciting and sometimes inaudible. The Fremantle end is disappointing with the exception of the Maritime Museum. The town is not worth the trip.

Friendly staff, the commentary on the way down to freo. The commentary was a little hard to follow at times, as delivered quite fast. Also on the way back, about half the commentary was missed. Although we'd heard it before, we would have liked to hear it again, to catch some of the details we missed earlier.

Nice cruise but no cashback

Viator often offer up to 20% off via a purchase through topcashback. Had a great trip but do not expect to get your cashback. I have booked 3 different trips at different times. They riggle out of paying every time. Don't be fooled or rely on these kind of offers working out.
