What To Expect

After morning pickup from your Playa del Carmen hotel, travel with your guide to Tulum, a former Maya city perched on a cliff with the Pacific Ocean forming a dramatic backdrop. As you walk through the ruins on a guided tour, imagine the place when it was bustling with the Mayan people as you hear stories and speculations about this interesting city.

Then, enjoy free time to wander about the grounds on your own. Hint: There’s a hidden beach behind the Maya castle at the base of the ruins.

Following Tulum, stop at two cenotes, or natural sinkholes, and explore the impressive caves and ancient rock formations.

Next, continue to Yal Ku Lagoon for snorkeling and wade into an estuary, where freshwater from the underground rivers combines with saltwater from the sea to create an environment teeming with aquatic life. The shallow rock-reefs in the area provide an ideal location for snorkeling.

Your day tour concludes with drop-off back at your hotel.

Amazing day
Aimee_P, Apr 2024
Amazing trip. The staff were lovely, especially our driver who was just so cheerful and gave us drinks and snacks constantly. The day was smooth with no issues and the locations were just beautiful. Amazing ruins, beautiful snorkelling and lunch was fantastic! Don’t give this one a miss
Beautiful sites, delicious food & refreshing water activities
Tina_B, Apr 2024
Diana, our guide was amazing. Alphonso, our driver was impressive in the traffic. The ride to Tulum from our resort was fast & Diana was full of information about Mexico, the ruins, cenotes & wildlife. The lunch by the beach was delicious & the views at the Tulum ruins was gorgeous. We wish we had more time to explore the ruins at Tulum & shop. Next trip, I will book a private tour so we can move at our own pace. The cenote was perfectly chilly to help cool off after the heat & humidity of the ruins. The beach was my husband's favorite part of the tour. We really enjoyed our tour with Cancun Adventures.
Wonderful tour!!

The whole tour was wonderful. Eduardo our tour guide was funny and informative. This is definitely a tour I would recommend. The cenote was beautiful. Lagoon was full of fish.
Amazing excursion to Tulum!!
Shrina_D, Mar 2024
This was a wonderful excursion for our family of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids, age 7-12). Our guide, Garry, and our driver, Julius, were wonderful throughout the day. Garry is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Tulum, the local culture, cenotes and more. Julius got us from place to place safely and quickly so we could maximize our time at each location. The van was comfortable and the air conditioning was key on a hot day. They provided water and snacks each time we boarded the van after a stop and that was perfect to keep us going until lunch. The lunch was also fabulous! The private beach area, the food, and the service were the perfect ending to the day. Would highly recommend this excursion to anyone!!
Gorgeous and fun

The Cenote experience was absolutely fantastic! Had an amazing time in the ruins learning about the culture and time frame
The cenote was insane!
Pamela_C, Mar 2024
We really enjoyed visiting Tulum but the cenote was the highlight for us. It was just so interesting and gorgeous. It took me a little out of my comfort zone but truly, there is nothing to worry about. Our guide, Max, took excellent care of us and the experience was very memorable. We visited 7 cenotes on our trip and this one was our favorite. FYI: I would recommend wearing water shoes when swimming in cenotes. The beachside lunch was very good and was in such a scenic location overlooking the beach. We loved this excursion and would highly recommend it!
Incredible day of adventure
Kristine_T, Mar 2024
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. We went with our eight-year-old and nine-year-old. The entire day was such a pleasure. The guides were friendly, and funny. Very knowledgeable. So supportive when anyone was outside their comfort zone. The ruins were mind blowing, and the cenote was so beautiful. Snorkeling in the lagoon was another highlight. Finishing off the day with a delicious beachside lunch was such a special way to end the magic. I wish I could live this day all over again! For the ruins, it was very hot. They do not allow plastic bottles inside. Definitely accept the shade umbrella that they offer.

Everything was fantastic but The cenote was my favorite part of the tour. Our guide was very kind and informative
A lot of fun packed into on excursion!
Bryna_F, Mar 2024
Each site we went to was so interesting. Our guide at the Tulum archaeological site was very interesting, but Edgar, our guide for the day was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He told us he is a scuba diving cave explorer so who better to take us into the cenotes and explain about them. We had a Spanish speaking couple on our trip, and the rest of us spoke English, but his Spanish so he was constantly speaking in English and Spanish, and his Spanish was very easy for both my daughter and I to understand since we have both had many years of Spanish. I highly recommend this excursion if you want to get in a few unique and fun things to do. Lunch by the ocean rounded out the day.
Tulum a Fanatastic day out
Ross_H, Mar 2024
This was a fabulous day trip, taking in the Tulum Mayan ruins, which were very interesting, however the swimming in the Cenote and the Snorkeling on the coral reef were both amazing. The number of fish the beautiful colours made this a stunning experience.
Excellent Tour!
Manish_G, Mar 2024
Our guide was great and was with us throughout the time we were exploring the cenote and the lagoon, as we were not comfortable at swimming. It’s little pricey, but apart from that, a great overall experience!
Phenomenal!
Kaylee_M, Mar 2024
Our guide, Dxniel, was phenomenal! He was funny, engaging, and very knowledgeable! We saw some incredible ruins. Dxniel toured us through a cave cenote filled with stalagmites and shared so much knowledge with us about all the plants in the area and history. He was a wonderful and attentive guide. When I was afraid in the cenote, he made sure to genuinely check on me a few times. The only constructive feedback we have is it would be great to have more time at Tulum because we felt we had to rush through the ruins, and our guide there wasn't as knowledgeable so we didn't learn as much about the history (e.g., the facts were more basic such as Spanish being the national language of Mexico).
Excellent tour to Tulum, Cenotes and Lagoon
Keith_B, Mar 2024
Lucas was a great guide. We really enjoyed the tour especially the swim in the cenote and the snorkeling in Yal Ku lagoon. He answered all our questions and provided a safe and very fun swim in the cenote tunnel. He was also great in the lagoon pointing out interesting locations and ensuring we were all present and safe. Just all around excellent guide.
Professional, knowledgeable guides
Michael_W, Mar 2024
Professional guides and a really good price considering the time and distance. The only part that was kind of lame was the beach club. It’s way too crowded with multiple tours and the food is pretty whatever. They also make this your final stop on the itinerary which is a little late for food and drink. I’d much rather skip the beach club and go back to my hotel
The highlight of our trip!
Leigh_F, Mar 2024
It was all amazing! Touring the ruins at Tulum, swimming through an underground cenote, snorkeling, and best of all: awesome Mexican food at a private beach club. Fabulous guide Manny. By the end of the day, the other people in the group felt like family. I didn’t want it to end.

Loved swimming in the beautiful cenotes. Our guide was able to point out so many interesting things Efficient Friendly Staff
Unique experience
SCOTT_E, Feb 2024
The cenote was a great unique experience. The only downside is not able to take your own pics. Guides were great.
Nothing special
Aymen_A, Feb 2024
The staff is amazing but nothing special we spend all the time in the car and we didn’t saw animals or something amazing it can be better
Fun Day
Joshua_B, Feb 2024
Lucas and Herardo were excellent! The photo package at the center was ridiculously overpriced, don't bother.
Mexican highlights in half a day
Robert_F, Feb 2024
Having our tour guide Gabby explain some of the history gave more meaning to what we were seeing at Tulum. Touring the cenotes while swimming was a unique experience. We saw many fish while snorkeling in the lagoon--more than I have seen on many other snorkeling excursions. The lunch at the beach restaurant was very good.
