Hi Denice! I want to thank you for sharing your experience of the tour. We’re a small, family-run business so reviews and feedback from guests like you are integral to our success. First, I would like to apologize that we missed the mark and you left disappointed. This is not the 5-star experience we strive for each tour. Second, I would like to respond to your complaints so those reading know this is not the typical experience we provide.
I spoke with your guide who did explain that this was a full tour and the places we visit were bustling and loud. The guide was told by another guest on the tour that you were not able to hear her well. After she learned this, she made a point to stand near you and speak louder. After she did this, she did not receive any more comments that you or the others could not hear her, so was under the assumption it was not an issue anymore. A big portion of the tour is the commentary the guide provides, so I want to deeply apologize if you were unable to catch some of it.
I also want to assure you that you did not miss any tour content, rather missed small talk between the guide and other guests. With a large group, sometimes walking speeds vary. So while the guide was waiting for everyone to catch up at certain locations she kept the momentum up by asking other guests about their trip, answering any questions, etc. When she was speaking before some of the group arrived, it was not tour content and was only personal discussions.
This is a food tour, and there were no complaints regarding the food and drink, so I'm glad that we were able to provide you the amazing food Portland has to offer.
I will take your comments as feedback to improve our tour, and hopefully can host you on another tour if you’re ever in town again to make up for this experience. Thanks again and take care!
