Portland is known for its food carts, but with numerous pods across the city, it can be difficult to know where to start. With this tour, your group will head to one of the city's oldest food cart pods, where you'll get the chance to try treats from five to seven different food carts plus a brewery.

All special dietary requirements must be communicated at time of booking. We are happy to welcome vegetarians and pescatarians, but due to the diverse nature of food carts visited, please note not all stops can be made gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan.

This is a walking tour, total walking distance will be approximately 1 miles. Please be prepared to walk in any type of weather. Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately including footwear and umbrella/rain gear.
This is a smoke-free tour.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
Everyone in your party must book a spot, including children of all ages.
No pets please.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

The food and drinks were planned well to show the history of Portland. The range of culture in each food selection was amazing. Our guide Evangel was fabulous! She was so knowledgeable of Portland and the history of the food/culture. I ate a lot and learned a lot. Evangel was so kind and helpful. She hung back at the end of the tour and spoke to everyone individually, answering questions/giving recommendations of other restaurants to try in Portland. I left full and with a list of other places to try during my visit in Portland. This tour was a 10/10

Cool experience

This was my first trip to Portland so I did a lot of research on various food tours. Herb’s name kept popping up as a great tour guide…so when we met at the start of the tour I was thrilled that Herb was our guide. He exceeded my (already high) expectations! Herb’s knowledge of Portland and the food carts was very impressive. The selection of tasty foods was a scrumptious of tastes from many different regions. Being able to try multiple items was perfect. The portions were plentiful. A huge thanks to Herb for making my trip to Portland so memorable.

Evangel was our host and was the sweetest. Very bubbly personality and fun to be around. We went to Hawthorne Asylum Food Pod and that was really a treasure. I wished we had stayed longer to try ALL the foods!

Food Pod Tour

Evangel was our tour guide and she was awesome. She was very knowledgeable about Portland in general and especially the foodie scene. Everything dish we tried was excellent, and we definitely ate things we had never tried before. The food pod tour was a great way to spend our last day in Portland.

A disappointment

There was a good variety of food; I think the leader had good information although I couldn’t hear what she was saying much of the time even after I told her. She stood at the end of the table I was not at and would speak before the group arrived at a location.

First, I would like to apologize that we missed the mark and you left disappointed. This is not the 5-star experience we strive for each tour. Second, I would like to respond to your complaints so those reading know this is not the typical experience we provide. I spoke with your guide who did explain that this was a full tour and the places we visit were bustling and loud. The guide was told by another guest on the tour that you were not able to hear her well. After she learned this, she made a point to stand near you and speak louder. After she did this, she did not receive any more comments that you or the others could not hear her, so was under the assumption it was not an issue anymore. A big portion of the tour is the commentary the guide provides, so I want to deeply apologize if you were unable to catch some of it. I also want to assure you that you did not miss any tour content, rather missed small talk between the guide and other guests. With a large group, sometimes walking speeds vary. So while the guide was waiting for everyone to catch up at certain locations she kept the momentum up by asking other guests about their trip, answering any questions, etc. When she was speaking before some of the group arrived, it was not tour content and was only personal discussions. This is a food tour, and there were no complaints regarding the food and drink, so I'm glad that we were able to provide you the amazing food Portland has to offer. I will take your comments as feedback to improve our tour, and hopefully can host you on another tour if you’re ever in town again to make up for this experience. Thanks again and take care!

A must do in Portland!

We had the most delightful afternoon with MIchelle! She was energetic, entertaining, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. The dishes kept getting better and better throughout the day. We had SO MUCH FOOD and FUN! If you have the opportunity to enjoy this tour, you must! Well worth every penny!

We stopped at 3 pods- sampled wide variety ( which I never would have done on my own) great way to try something different. Our tour guide was Avangle who was great, giving background on the pods, chefs, and food!! Learned a lot. She gave us local neighborhood history making us feel connected! She was awesome. ended at Rouge pilot brewery = fantastic!! Highly recommend

Portland food tour is well worth the money and time!

Our tour guide, Brian, was an outstanding host and extremely knowledgeable. He even went above and beyond with sharing suggestions for other sights to see while in Portland. Best of all though was him offering us samples of foods we might not have picked ourselves. It was all great and we were excited to try some new things!

Very fun experience. Food was great. They prepared vegetarian versions of the food for my wife who is vegetarian. I was impressed that the guide asked our names and he remembered them throughout the trip. He was informative and interesting and made the food cart tour really memorable. Herb was fantastic!

If I lived here by all these great food carts and restaurants, I'd get fat, but I'd sure be happy! While on this tour, in addition to trying out foods I would not have normally chosen at first glance, I learned also about foods from different regions. After the tour I went back to one of the food cart parks and reordered some really amazing food. Great tour!
