What To Expect

Meet up with your fellow travelers in the heart of San Juan and take a van out to the eastern side of El Yunque National Forest, where your adventure begins. Hike for around 25 minutes until you reach a waterfall, where you can take a refreshing dip or take a rope swing into the water. Hike for another 15 minutes to reach a swimming hole with a natural rock slide. As you explore, listen to your guide explain to you about the history, flora, and fauna of the surrounding rainforest.

After your hiking and swimming adventure, head to a family-owned restaurant to dine on homestyle food (at your own expense) before making your way back to San Juan.

Safety is our priority, in order for you to enjoy the experience to its fullest we may have to slightly forward or delay your start time after reservations are made, to avoid heavy flow of people and betterment of the experience. The notification will be sent by email the evening prior the tour.
** If you're traveling with a group but reserved your space separately, you have to notify us that you're together. The chances of being assigned to different tour guides are high, and changes can't be made on the day of the tour **
We recommend shoes that you won’t mind getting wet and muddy, that have a good grip and thick sole. Sneakers, water shoes or hiking sandals that cover your toes are the best option. Be mindful that sandals, flip flops, croccs or slides are not allowed as it can be dangerous once wet or muddy.
Not recommended for non-physical active participants
Participants with; Walking limitations, Overweight Issues, Permanent Injuries, Recent surgeries or not physically fit are NOT recommended as a good physical condition is required to complete this experience.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Wonderful experience! Sebastian & his brother Fabian were amazing tour guides ! They were fun, and patient and help us when we needed it. Instructions were clear. The driver Johnathan was great too! He was full of energy and kind. His driving was smooth. It was so much fun! I highly recommend this tour. My only advice is that people need to be at least moderately active, since there’s a lot of climbing using ropes to hold yourself and walking over rocks through the river.

Wanted to love this tour, while the location was stunning the "tour" was at best chaotic. The guides only gave explanations to the few closest people to them, while others in the group feared they would get left behind. The risks weren't explained in advance. Someone got hurt during the tour and they barely received any care or attention from the guides.

This full day hike was a memorable experience for my family and I. What made this hike unique was not just the beauty of El Yunque rainforest but also the our guide Charlie. Charlie was personable, funny and extremely knowledgeable about the history of San Juan, local plants and more which just added to the hike. Our group was comprised of 14 ladies and gentlemen and each of them were a pleasure to be around. I can not express enough how incredible this hike was; however, Charlie our guide was the real MVP! Thanks Charlie

An even better experience than I could have imagined! It was 6 of us that went to celebrate my sister’s birthday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They picked us up from the market and Charlie was by far the best tour guide from beginning to end! He accommodated us, the other people we had to ride on the van were strangers, but by the end, we felt like friends and family! I would come again and tell everyone to make sure they also, go to the rainforest and ask for Charlie as their guide!!!

Very fun trip through El Yunque with a very kind and competent tour operator. He speaks English and Spanish fluently. I highly recommend this tour to folks who want to swim in El Yunque.

Gian gave lots of interesting information about the flora and fauna around the area. And every place was like a postcard picture. The falls, especially, were so beautiful. Our safety and comfort were his top priority! Be sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting very muddy!

Charlie was amazing we had so much fun. He helped my autistic son do things we never thought possible. He was engaged with all my kids. He made it a great experience. 10 out of 10 recommend. He made sure it was safe too. Safety and fun was his ultimate goal.

Our trip was canceled due to weather, which is understandable. However. Taking us for more than an hour drive and letting us know when we get there that is cancelled could’ve been prevented. It was raining the whole drive and also it could’ve been seen from the road that the mountain was not visible. We basically lost the whole morning between going and coming back.

I love this so much, it was a hike for sure but you keep going due to the awesome tour guide that is educated and take pride in his work. Gian was not only handsome, but very friendly, outgoing and made sure we all were safe and didn't harm ourselves. I couldn't swim but he gave me great confidence that I will make it out😭. Great time! From the ride with Jonathan (who drove us down to the actual adventure from the meeting point) to the tour leaders Andrea and Omar, everyone did a great job at keeping the group safe and entertained. We learned about the ecosystem in el Yunque and even got to see some cool animals. The water slide and swing were awesome and the hike wasn’t rigorous at all. All in all would recommend to anyone looking for a hike in the Forrest to some fun water activities.

We had Patricia as our tour guide and it was an absolute blast! She obviously loves her job & had the kind of energy that was absolutely infectious. The hike itself was a bit more intense than I imagined but was manageable. It’s going to be muddy & you’re going to get wet regardless if it’s rained or not so wear appropriate clothing. We weren’t able to do the slide since the current was too strong but we were able to cliff jump and rope swing. Everyone in our group agreed the hike was the most memorable part of our whole vacation. She also takes pictures of every person & shares them in a DropBox album at the end so you don’t have to worry about bringing your phone.

Make sure the tour guides double check that the park is open before heading out to the rainforest

I booked this trip for my family after driving more than a half hour to the meeting spot and spending 45 minutes in a van with everyone on our way to the rainforest, we were informed by our tour guides that we were going to have to cancel the excursion due to the rain that happened the previous days. That is completely understandable that the excursion had to be canceled due to weather, but I feel that this is something that could’ve been prevented, had The tour guides made any phone calls ahead of time to confirm that the park would be closed. Overall, it ended up taking up valuable time during our vacation that we could’ve planned something else. Thankfully, we were able to get a full refund.
