Overview

This small-group tour in Punta Cana takes you to to sample some of the Dominican Republic’s key products: cigars, rum, coffee, and chocolate. You’ll visit the Don Lucas Cigar Factory to learn about the process of cigar making. You’ll also visit the choco and coffee museums, plus a rum bar. Bad transportation but great experience

We were never picked up by the transportation through Viator but was able to make the experience with transportation through our hotel. The market was a great experience with various tastings and friendly staff! Would recommend!

Set up tour and paid but was never picked up. Two hours later we went on same tour for free from our resort. Enjoyed it. Money was refunded promptly from this site, but frustrating losing vacation time.

There was no tour of the Cigar Factory. There were 2 guys sitting at a table in the corner of a trinket souvenir shop. We were told Don Lucas Cigar Factory closed during pandemic but these 2 men used to work there. Including travel time we spent 36 minutes. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

The cigar tour was the best part. The rum tasting was out of samples. The coffee was good and so was the chocolate. Too many hands out as they passed you from guide to guide. Would have been nice to move along at our own pace or have one guide for the whole site.

The pick up was on time . The ride was comfortable and air conditioned. They gave us 2 hours to shop which was a lot of time. They also advised they could give us extra time if needed. There was only 1 other couple in the van so it was very private. Overall the service was 5 star. The prices in the stores were good to ok. The cigar prices for Canadians and Americans were way over priced. 20$US for LFD Cigars you get in the US for $8 you are playing $16 here. My main reason for doing this tpur was for the cigars. I still ended up grabbing cigars. The camacho corojo machitos I purchased Had 1 cigar that was infested by cigar beetles. The demi tasse davidoff cigars had 3 of the 10 cigars infested with cigar beetles. With the price and the damages I felt cheated. Probably would pass on this excursion for the future based on prices of cigars and quality. If you are going for other souvenirs then its worth going.

Process for jewelry and products definitely cheaper than the hotel. The tour lasted 2 hours. They only gave us 2 rums to taste. To learn the cigar process was pretty cool. You want to be treated right get those dollars out. People here expect tips for everything.

We have for tasting: cocoa tea, chocolate, coffee, cigars, premium rum. And for the first time since 1992 that someone criticizes the behavior of our guides, who are very well prepared and adducted. Best local cigar factory tour

The cigar factory tour was great, we rolled our own cigars, their humidor is large and full of branded boxed cigars. chocolate/coffee small factory was amazing but the highlight was the Rum bar at the end of the tour and the bartender , treated us with the best XO rum I have ever had with Don Lucas 20th anniversary cigars. Must go.

Very hot which I expected in August. Noone to ask questions. The rum tasting was fun. Chocolate tasting was good. I bought a Cocoa Butter and did not think I needed to open it. It was 1/2 gone and looked nasty.

FYI, this is the same tour as the 101 Oliver Tasting! We accidentally booked both and come to find out 101 is right next to this Don Lucas. It was pretty fun and awesome to see! We got to see cigar rolling and taste some chocolate and coffee! Plus their coffee shop is huge but I loved their jewelry store!
