The tour is a perfect way to explore the south coast. Mitch was a great guide and made the long trip extremely enjoyable with his jokes and had good knowledge about Iceland. Really enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tour in Iceland.

Amazing Tour
Judith_G, May 2024
10/10 recommend. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interactive with the group. Be sure to bring snacks or buy food at any of the rest locations that the guide stops at. Make sure to wear the proper clothing, especially hiking boots and waterproof clothing. I would recommend wearing multiple layers to adjust as the weather can be unpredictable. Overall the tour was beautiful and took us to all the amazing sights on the Southern coast.
Geological interest!

The beach was amazing, as were the waterfalls. The plane to me was not interesting but the land the plane was on was fascinating. So much area with so little life!
Nice excursion with just enough to do
Debra_C, Apr 2024
Really enjoyed this trip. It delivered exactly as described! The waterfalls were magical and easy to get to. The black sand beaches were beautiful and there was plenty of time to explore and get lunch. We enjoyed the DC-3 plane and then a short stroll on the deserted beach. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
Ice Cold

I really enjoyed Reynisfjara, the black sand beach was beautiful. the Skogafoss falls were breathtaking. I enjoyed the glacier in Vic and the place wreck was unbelievable, I took the shuttle wasn’t brave enough to walk to it in the cold.
Recommend this trip
Donna_D, Mar 2024
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip but sadly our bus broke down on the way and because of the time we lost we only got to spend 20 minutes on Reynisfjara beach which wasn’t long enough. For anyone concerned about walking to the plane wreck, there is a shuttle bus which drops you near to the plane and picks you up either half an hour or one hour later. The only down side to the trip is that the bus is shared with people doing a glacier hike instead of the plane wreck and we had to sit in the bus for over an hour waiting for them. If you plan to go maybe take a book.

Our tour guide Mitch made this an unforgettable tour. He shared stories and tips to enhance the DC3 wreck tour and overall experience.
US Militray plane wrecked in Black sand beach in Iceland
Sahima_K, Dec 2023
The day was not in our favor. Strong winds and snow made our day terrible. We basically did hop on hop off. Getting off from minibus taking photos and getting back in the bus. Otherwise, the south coast was beautiful! I am in US Navy and the wrecked plane was US Navy that ran out of fuel and crushed in black sand beach. I felt really sad that the body is still sitting in Iceland. The country is making lot of money out of this spot a tourist attractions, which is basically an American military craft.
Amazing waterfalls and fascinating to see D3 plane wreck
Sandra_E, Nov 2023
Last Monday, we went to see Amazing waterfalls, fascinating to see D3 plane wreck and we had good laughs on the bumpy ride on the beach to see the wreck plane. But one place called Reynisfjara we didn't know and missed it cos the driver didn't tell us or explain. Also, we are Deaf so probably he didn't bother to tell us to go and see Reynisfjara. Next Tuesday morning, we went back again and the different driver told us to visit there and saw them ourselves. There was a miscommunication with the driver and us last Monday. I would recommend my friends to book the day tour. Sandra
Black sand beaches, waterfalls, and glacier views
Amanda_S, Oct 2023
This day tour offered visits to stunning waterfalls and black sand beach, views of rock formations, and glaciers. Puffins flew overhead and perched on the rock formations at the beach. Our tour guide offered plenty of interesting stories and facts about the scenery and Iceland in general. Our van was comfortable too. A very enjoyable day of sightseeing.
Fabulous experience
Gillian_M, Sep 2023
Fabulous day with fabulous guide. Saw some stunning waterfalls, black beaches, Vik, as well as what we had come to see. Plenty of time at each location, relaxed day in a small coach with plenty of friendly info from guide. The coach had some people doing glacier hike and some doing aeroplane so the group split for part of day but it was well organised and when we went to pick up hikers we saw bottom of glacier close up with a small lagoon with icebergs. All in all a fantastic day
Worth it
Tracey_C, Aug 2023
It was a long day. But we really enjoyed it. Everything was as expected. Beautiful views and David was a good guide. Would have gave it 5 stars but the seats aren't made for tall people so really uncomfortable for such a long day. But other than that really enjoyed all the stops. I loved that we got to take quick trip into Vik while waiting on glacier hikers. That was an awesome surprise.
Do not mis!
Candi_O, Jul 2023
Tour guide picked up on time at agreed location. Tour bus is new and clean but very squished seating for normal sized. The sout coast stops were spectacular! Our whole family just loved everything about this trip!

This was thru adventures .is . Martin the driver was fantastic and on time. Whole experience was pleasure.
Amazing experience!!
Elena_T, Mar 2023
Martin was really nice and he explained to us everything about Iceland... I'm giving 4stars because the seat were a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of legroom...we also had two wait 2h because the people who went to the Glacier started late
Thumbs Up

Jojo, our guide was lovely! Funny and wonderful blend of energy and very caring! DC3 plane wreckage was a highlight for me, being a aviation enthusiast! Recommended
Amazing tour with an excellent guide
Natasha_R, Mar 2023
We did the tour with Jojo, he was an excellent tour guide, he took us to all of the places. The weather was a bit foggy, but Jojo planned it well, so we could see the waterfall during the sunset which was amazing 🤩 We were mind blown by the south coast of Iceland, highly recommended tour. Our highlight of the tour was the plane wreck, it was something that you don’t see everyday!
Great guide and tour but rubbish bus
Carol_S, Feb 2023
Guide good and tour interesting. However the minibus was VERY mini. Everyone complained about the leg room. I am only 5ft 4ins and even I could not sit with my legs in front. I had to sit with legs sideways. My husband is 6 foot - he didn't have a chance. Very uncomfortable for a 10 hour tour.
Doomed excursion
Leatha_G, Feb 2023
This excursion was doomed from the start. Weather was ever changing from tolerable cold to winter storm. Bus was overcrowded & air conditioner was on instead of heater so freezing inside the bus (February) went to black sand beach and daughter & I got caught in a sneaker wave even though we were not close to the water (both knocked down and underwater by the freezing giant wave)soaked head to toe, bought a wool sweater, hat & gloves for my daughter at restaurant but no pants, socks or shoes available, air conditioner STILL ON, still freezing, 6 more hrs to go on the excursion. Dropped off ice cave hikers (the driver did take her socks & boots to dry in the front under the cold air conditioner) not much luck, then stopped by this road and put his coat and hat on my daughter and borrowed boots and pretty much bullied us to get off the bus in the winter storm (even though we both said no as we were wet & cold) we could see he was getting mad so we had to take a different rig which we had to PAY ADDITIONAL $4500 Krona each ($32.00) to drive us in somewhat proximity of the DC Plane wreckage. Nothing mentioned about additional fees to see the plane since it’s supposed to be part of the excursion so it felt like a private deal between him and the other driver) couldn’t see ANYTHING in the winter storm and would of had to hike 45 min into the winter storm to get a decent look and 45 min back but I was not going to let my daughter catch pneumonia to go on the hike. So stepped outside for 2 minutes to see if we could see it and take a pic. Afterwords back to the regular bus, returned the coat, hat & boots. AIR CONDITIONER still on, still freezing, was able to catch a pic of 1 waterfall in this whole trip before went to a little shop that sold sweatshirt & pants and socks that I got for my daughter who was still soaking wet. Then when he dropped us off back at the hotel, he went to back of the bus, grabbed our wet clothes and dropped them in the snow and left. I still have my hat missing (still in the back of the bus) I don’t blame him for the weather changing, or my daughter and I getting caught and pulled underwater from the sneaker wave. But what I do hold him accountable for was his lack of empathy that we were freezing and cold and he could of put the heater on during that time, for offering his coat & hat, boots to MAKE US transfer to the other bus during the storm when we clearly said NO several times because my daughters pants were still soaking wet and his response was “ What do you want me to do about it”. But he chose to keep the air conditioning on, chose to make us leave the bus and transfer to other bus to take us to the plane wreckage, for making us pay a total of $9000 kronas for his side job with the other driver to take us to see a plane that you could not see in the blizzard, for dropping our wet clothes in the snow instead of handing it to us. I would of happily given a 5 star if he would of have turned on the heater and let my daughter & I dried off. By the way the heater worked because he turned it on when driving everyone back to the hotels. Don’t travel to Iceland in Feb as it’s the darkest & coldest month in the year.
Rich travel experience

It was longest, most beautiful day! Driving from the capital to the south coast took about 1 hour and half but it had amazing views. Seeing the waterfalls and the plane wreck was definitely worth it.
