What To Expect

Your 5-day tour from Rome includes accommodation at your choice of 3-star, 4-star or 4-star superior hotels for two nights in Sorrento and two nights in Capri; make your accommodation selection when booking. Hotels are centrally located so you’ll be well placed to explore on your own during free time.

As you leave Rome on Day 1, your experience starts in Naples, followed by a visit to the World Heritage–listed ruins of Pompeii before ending the day in the village of Sorrento. The second half of your tour takes you to the Italian island of Capri where you can admire attractions like the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzura).

Note: Rates do not include city taxes, which you will pay directly to the hotels upon check-in or check-out, according to local procedure. City tax changes according to hotel category. Hotels are subject to availability at the time of booking. In the rare event that the mentioned hotel is not available, you will be accommodated at another centrally located hotel of the same star rating.

Capri overnight a must

Capri over night was a must! We luckily stayed in Anacapri which was touristy but not as much as Capris itself . Fenician stairs and gondola along with Ville San Michele were all highly recommended. Blue ( Azzure ) grotto truly beautiful . My only complaint was I would have liked the itinerary earlier so I could have booked some of my own experiences not knowing how much free time we would have! Thank you to all your guides and associates!!

This 5 day trip to the Amalfi coast...

This 5 day trip to the Amalfi coast was fantastic. Very well organized by Viator, GrayLine, and Carani. All their people were on time, polite, responsive, and knowledgable. The buses were new, clean, and had safe drivers. Even the rest stop was nice. Naples could be skipped, but Pompeii was fantastic, Sorrento was great we opted for the deluxe room and got a great view of the Bay of Naples and Capri, and Capri is all that it is advertised. At each location, the guides were good, but the assistants were the best. All details from buses, meals, hotels, sites, and ferries were all very well coordinated. We would definitely use these services again.

Day one - The organisation of one day, two day and five day tours in Rome seemed very disorganised. Some activities on our five day itinerary such as a walking tour of old Naples just didn't happen due to lack of time and trying to fit in with Pompeii tours. When we complained we were told to take it up with the tour company. We then told the guide we thought he WAS the tour company but there was no acceptance of responsibility. Bistro lunch before Pompeii was just awful with cold food and a two hour wait in a restaurant where no one knew what we we getting for lunch or what quantities. After lunch we finally got to our 'day in Pompeii' which turned out to be a rushed hour and a half starting inexplicably in the gift shop where they were making cameos out of shells which no one had the slightest interest in. Things did improve after day one however - our female guide from Pompeii was excellent and helped us to settle into Sorrento. it was just magical for two nights and then onto Capri which we loved every minute of. Getting back on to the ferry to Naples however was a bit of a shambles with about four ferry loads all competing! However we appreciate there are lots of people to move. Pompeii was amazing and fabulous to see, with a very helpful English-speaking guide. All in all it wasn't bad but Viator could tighten up on a lot of the loose ends.

Disappointed in the guides on this trip. We just drove through Naples did not get our walking tour, no explanation. He was only interested in getting to lunch first. The Pompeii guide was self interested and gave little information.We were then left in Sorrento to do our own thing then went to Capri. Capri is highly recommended, but don't use this tour.

I hated this trip! Lunch before Pompeii completely inedible; hotel accommodations were more like 2 star than the 4 star we "upgraded" to. Liked the blue grotto on Capri but it should be done as a day trip. Felt stuck on an island for 2 nights. Save your money! Book a better experience on your own.

We truly enjoyed our tour or Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. The extra free day in Sorrento and Capri allowed for enough downtime to explore the area on our own and at our own pace. I would give this tour 5 stars except the meals included on the first day and at the hotel in Sorrento were terrible, really barely edible. Additionally, we were assigned to a different hotel than the ones listed for the 4 star in Sorrento that were not within walking distance of the downtown area. This was a bit disappointing however the hotel did provide a free shuttle.

Pompeii guide was fantastic! Capri guide was great! Tour however did not hang together leaving the client to basically figure out where to go and what to do... no tour group feeling was created due to fact that different duration tours were combined...

The tour is 2 days of guided tours with 3 days by yuorself. The many bus transfers are chaotic and travellers had to transfer their luggage themselves from different buses and from the ferry. I booked the deluxe hotels and they were not good value for money. Ther Royal hotel in Sorrento gave me a room that was 10 feet x 10 feet with the view of another building and the Best WEstern gave me a room with the view of a wall and no working AC for a whole night and half a day. Will never book another extended tour on Viator again. Very dissappointed.

Really enjoyed the tour and trip. Such beautiful cities and loved how we were pretty much on our own. The last day back was a little rough with the amount of time to come back, was not prepared but really enjoyed the tour guides.

This tour was excellent, we enjoyed Pompeii, maybe it little too long, Sorrento was a very beautiful place and so it was Capri. we recomend this trip.the only negative was the Capril Hotel's bed was extremely hard to sleep on, other than that we had a great view from the hotel.

I thought the guide on the bus to Napoli and Pompeii was a little weak new?. He didn't keep us informed of the fact that there were several tours at the same time and which bus was to continue to Sorrento and which was to return to Rome. The restrooms at the stop on the way down was not up to international standards. Our Pompeii guide was very skilled and informative. We liked the Villa Maria hotel in Sorrento and the Bougainville in Anacapri. The return to Napoli was a total snafu with us waiting at dock No. 7 until 5 minutes before the boat was leaving and Francesca didn't bring any tickets. Very unprofesional.

The 5 day trip is perfect. With two nights each in Sorrento and Capri and free days, it's possible to see the real Campania you will not see in 3 days or less. Amazing scenery and food. And the free days of the 5 day tour were key. Choosing the top hotel option was also key to a fantastic experience. The Ambasciatori in Sorrento is beautiful and includes beautiful 4-course dinners in the price. It sits on the cliff and is perfect. In Capri, Cassa Morgano is very good. Although not deserving of 5 stars it claims to have. And the view from the hotel is better than anything you will see on any day trip. Capri is one place that lives up to the marketing photos, but only if you stay overnight(s) long enough to see it. Most important to the trip was the free days. Taking a day to Amalfi from Sorrento was an excellent choice. It's amazing. And in Capri, having a day to walk along the coast and find idyllic bays was the best. The locations deserve 5 stars but unfortunately the local tour company's disorganization let it down. Information was sometimes confused and conflicting between written information and verbal information provided by guides. On several occasions guides got upset at people for the guides' own mistakes. You need to think on your feet to make sure you're in the right place at the right time.

Nous n'avons découvert que sur place les détails de l'organisation du tour : 2 journées libres et la dernière journée consacrée en grande partie au transport.(On pensait que les détails nous seraient donnés à l'inscription) Pas de possibilité de savoir s'il y avait 1 ou 2 chambres (1 mère et ses 2 ados, c'est compliqué) De grosses difficultés pour contacter le voyagiste de Rome (13 appels avant d'avoir quelqu'un au téléphone) . Une guide très peu motivée à Pompéi, et une visite sans grand intérêt à Capri.

Despise que nuestro crucero fue cancelado (un día antes de volar Miami-Venice)por el crash en Puerto de Venevia, no sabíamos que hacer y como siempre usamos Viator para nuestros Multi days excursions en los viajes a Europa; encontramos este Maravilloso Tour. Enseguida Rosario se pus en contacto con nosotros y se aseguro que todo fuera Casi Perfecto. Nos recogieron en nuestro hotel de Roma y nos llevaron al punto de donde salía el Bus hacia el puerto de Napoles, una vez allí encontramos a Sasha que junto a Estela fueron unos Guías increíbles. El ferró nos llevo a la Isla de Capri. E primer día fue planeado Paseo por Ana Capri, La Gruta Azul y luego a nuestro hotel. Hotel Floridiana no es de lo mejores de la isla pero es muy bonito y la vista del restauran donde tomábamos el desayuno era PERFECTA. El hotel necesita un poco de reparación y mejorar la limpieza de sus habitaciones. El desayuno muy bueno con gran variedad de opciones y estaba incluido. Los siguientes dos días fuero libres y así planeamos paseo a los farallones y otras cosas mas. Fue encantador poder estar 3 días en esta ISLA MAGICA. Luego fuimos a Sorrento, Preciosa ciudad. Nos alojaron en el hotel Marco Angelo. Un hotel muy bonito pero con um gran problema con el Aire Acondicionado. El primer día no pudimos casi dormir del calor. Al otro día lo reportamos y limpiaron los filtros, etc y mejoro algo. Ese día antes del hotel visitamos Pompei un tour maravilloso y muy bien coordinado.. La guía un amor, nos lo hizo muy ameno e interesante. Al otro dia teniamo el día libre y comprados el ticket del BUS hop off hop on hasta Amalfi. Que maravilla de recorrido por toda la carretera que bordea la costa y nos pasamos el día en Amalfi. Nos bañamos en la playa, almorzamos y a las 6 regresamos a Sorrento. El ticket de regreso cuesta solo $5 euros. Luego nos regresamos a Roma donde termino el tour. Despise de pasar un día Roma al la siguiente mañana nos fuimos en el ave a Milan y tomamos el Tour a Lake como que también compramos aquí en Viator y donde estaré escribiendo el review, pero recomendado 100%. Una vez mas Gracias Viator por tan increíblemente coordinación y buenas opciones.
