What To Expect

Your morning starts with pickup from your hotel in central Rome by air-conditioned minivan. Settle in for the roughly 2.5-hour drive to the Pompeii Archaeological Park.

On arrival in Pompeii, skip the ticket lines and the crowds trying to get into the popular attraction, and take a 2-hour guided tour covering much of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then, head toward the Amalfi Coast. Enjoy views of the Bay of Naples along the drive to Sorrento and Positano, where you stop for lunch, relaxation and shopping (own expense). After several hours in Positano, continue down the coast to Amalfi and visit a limoncello factory for tastings and free time to explore on your own.

Your day ends with a return drive and drop-off in Rome.

If you visit during winter, your itinerary might be modified or reversed, depending on the weather.

The entire tour was great. Picked up by Super professional driver Massimo 1 and guide Rashi they were attentive and we are very inpressed. Also the guide in Ponpei was so knowledgeable attentive. This is the best way to do tours.

Visiting Pompeii. Had an excellent tour. The visit to Positano was also very nice. Enjoyed lunch there and a little shopping. First time visit for four of the six. Very enjoyable experience for family.

We spent an amazing time in Pompei and in Positano. Wish it were a little bit lo ger specially in Positano, but it was totally worth it. Our spanish guide was really caring and namice to talk to.

Max and Dina were wonderful. Max was a very experienced and conscientious driver and Dina was very well informed of the sites on the way to and from the areas we visited. Paolo was our guide in Pompeii and was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would highly recommend taking this private tour. A private tour may cost more, but the experience was well worth, avoiding the masses, and providing a much more intimate and personalized experience.

Wonderful experience! We were picked up promptly at 6:30 at our accommodations in Rome and greeted by our wonderful guide, Juliana, and driver Roberto. We were driven 2 hrs to Pompeii where we enjoyed a fascinating tour with our tour guide Emmanuela. The timing was perfect, because it was cooler and less crowded. We then headed to Positano, a beautiful coastal town in Amalfi where Juliana guided us to a reservation at a beautiful restaurant on the beach. We dipped our toes in the water and did some shopping. Then, before leaving the town, we had a wonderful prearranged lemmoncello tasting. Truly wonderful day! Highly recommend.

Good tour in a short time

The drive was comfortable and thanks to the driver the journey to and fro Positano was comfortable since all the family have motion sickness. There was no stop at a limoncello ‘factory’ and we were taken to one of the shops to taste some. The guide at Pompeii was great and answered all our questions.

The factory is the company that produces limoncello. The tasting is to make this liqueur famous throughout the world known and appreciated. Perfect day to end our trip. Private van with driver and tour guide Josh was an excellent way to see this area of Italy. We had a guide at Pomeii that was great at keeping us entertained. Then had a fabulous lunch in Amalfi with limoncello and gelato. Beautiful coast line drive.

The whole day was the best day of our trip to Europe. Dina & Luigi were unbelievable. It was like we had known them forever. Dina's knowledge of everything was mind blowing, she had answered all our questions perfectly, and shared some fun facts with us as well. We had such a great time, and the trip from Rome was sensational never a boring moment. Dina's lunch recommendation was SENSATIONAL, we cannot fault the day at all. Even Paulo from Pompeii was great, we felt so humble to have had him as our tour guide. I cannot recommend this trio highly enough. Fabulous Tour!

This was a great tour when we were in Rome for only a few days. Our tour guide, Dina, and our driver, Max, picked us up at our hotel at 6:30. Dina was very knowledgeable and,at the same time, thoughtful and gracious. Max was a fabulous driver! We made one stop on the way to Pompeii for a coffee and pastry. Then, on to Pompeii where we met Romulo, our guide for the Pompeii part of the tour. This lasted two hours and during that time we gained a greater understanding of the story of this “lost city”. Romulo was excellent - like having a storyteller so that we could imagine the city life before the eruption of Vesuvius. After a picturesque ride up the Amalfi Coast, we arrived in Amalfi. Lunch at La Maria was delicious and then we enjoyed 2 hours browsing the interesting shops and harbor views. Finally a little limoncello tasting before our trip back to Rome. We arrived back around 6:30PM. The entire day was filled with a good mix of activities and down time. We could not have been more pleased with this tour. Thanks to Dina, Max, and Romulo for this amazing experience!!

Disappointing

After reading all the great reviews we were very disappointed to get a guide that spoke less than 20 words to us the entire 12 hour day. We tried asking various questions about sites on the drive but he answered with one word or shrugged. He slept on drive and we found our own restaurant for lunch. He offered no suggestions for good picture spots. No stop at limoncello . My advice is to confirm by name the guide you are getting as there is some with great reviews and as we have learned from other tours in Rome the good guides can really make the experience.

I found the restaurant for them since they wanted a pizzeria and not fish. So I had to change. But I assure you that I found it for them and not them. They didn't give me the chance to speak.. For their express request. our philosophy is to provide a stress-free experience, according to the customer's needs. the assistant does not interfere if the client does not request it. Fabio is a professor of art and history, a well-known archaeologist and if you had given him the opportunity to speak he would have also told you the nature of each stone. We are sorry if you did not appreciate the education of our assistant, we recommend that you communicate more with the guide or assistant in the future if you want more information.

Tour guides shared information about all parts of Italy during the entire trip. Very interesting and enjoyable. We learned a lot and had a great time. Pompeii was amazing with its 2000 year preserved history. And the Amalfi Coast was gorgeous! Also, the guides were wonderfully nice people and we enjoyed spending the day with them!

Excellent private tour with Dina as our guide, and Giovanni our driver. We also had Francesco as our guide in Pompeii. Our guides spoke English very well which made the long journey from Rome very pleasant and worthwhile. Highly recommend.
