Created as a summer retreat for a wealthy Renaissance-era banker, this 16th-century villa was built to the highest specifications and decorated by major artists of the era. Frescoes by the likes of Raphael, Baldassare Peruzzi, and Sebastiano del Piombo cover the walls and ceilings, some of them incorporating illusory techniques.

Excellent tour of trastevere and villa farnesina. Spread over two sessions as the villa changed its opening hours with no notice! Elisabetta met us the following day to finish the tour She was really knowledgeable and a great guide

Excellent lesser toured area of Rome
Excellent tour of Trastevere and Villa Farnesina. Vincenzo was incredibly knowledgeable about art and architecture and showed / told me many things I could not have done on my own. His passion for the topics was also irreplaceable and would definitely recommend this tour!

A hidden Roman treasure
Seeing the wonderful murals/ frescoes in the house of the richest man of his time was special. They are beautiful and forced us to read up about the myths before our visit. Our guide, an art historian, was excellent and her explanations were enlightening and excellent. Her love for her subject shone through. We really enjoyed our tour which was our last before having to return home. It did not disappoint us. It was a lovely end to a wonderful visit to Rome.
