What To Expect

Your day trip to Pisa and Florence begins with hotel pickup in Rome and transport for you and your group by bus to Pisa. Explore the sights on Piazza dei Miracoli on your own for about an hour with your prebooked tickets—including the cathedral, baptistery, and cemetery—plus snap photos of the famous leaning tower from outside. Then board the bus to continue on to Florence.

Once you arrive in Florence, spend an hour of free time stretching your legs and shopping before meeting your group and guide at the Accademia Gallery to take in Michelangelo’s iconic “David”. Afterwards, take a walking tour of the city to cover A-list sights like the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza della Signoria while learning about Florentine history and architecture. Board the bus for a final stop at Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the view over the city before the drive back to Rome.

The Pisa Cathedral was beautiful and not too large. St. Peter's, in the Vatican is famous, but I had to look at it in little bites. The Pisa cathedral can be seen in half the time and it's just as beautiful.

Too much driving and not enough tour time

Too much driving and not enough tour time. It would have been much better to have a train to and from Florence and a shuttler to and from Pisa. There was not enough tour time to see all of the important sights. The vehicle use, and old BMW X5, had a exhaust leak and we finished the tour that night with headaches! The tour guides were OK. This was the first Viator tour that I was not extremely happy with. I'd recommend doing this own your own.

The tour of Florence covers 820 km, according to the regulations of the highway code the time traveled by car is very long. This tour is a window into our beautiful country to understand which city you prefer to delve into on your next trip. You should know that seeing Florence and Pisa by train is not a good solution because there are no good times to organize the tour with all the attractions indicated in the travel program. All our vehicles are comfortable, traveling with a class SUV higher than the minivan is a plus that you should have appreciated. Your headache is definitely due to something else that cannot be attributed to any technical problem. This tour is a cult and has a high level of popularity, perhaps if you had spent more for a private tour you would have had more time to manage with the assistant. We recommend that you always check the distance covered on a tour before booking.

Long day but Great Tour

This was a really great tour! Yara and Giovanni took great care of us. It is a fast tour of both cities to fit them both in one day but you get to see the Leaning Tower and the magnificent Statue of David as well as a quick walking tour of the Florentine city center. If you're looking for an overview of both, we can't recommend this tour enough.

We had the most amazing time on this tour! We got a lovely “appetizer” of Pisa and Florence. We stopped at some of the highlights, which piqued our interest in wanting to explore the towns further. Our tour guides, Alexis & Giovanni, and our driver, Massimo, were the absolute best! Extremely friendly & knowledgeable. Massimo & Alexis personally picked us up at our hotel, drove us to Pisa & Florence, and dropped us off at our hotel’s doorstep at the end of our day trip. They also offered to drop us off wherever we’d like, which was amazing! So considerate & gracious. Beyond our day trip, our tour guides gave us wonderful, local tips on places to visit, and even the proper way to make some of the local cuisine! Extremely hassle-free. Great communication with the tour operator. The whole day trip was an enriching, memorable experience…it was worth every penny! Highly recommended.
