When you meet up with an archeologist at her favorite monument, you know you are in for a treat! Olga was our guide and she had a surprise for us at each stop. Unbelievably knowledgeable in the Pantheon and it was fantastic. Just my husband and I and it felt great that we didn’t have to rush around. We were able to take our time and ask lots of questions.

The pantheon is not as impressive from the outside as I expected. It is situated in amongst what appear to be residential buildings. There’s a nice plaza in front but it feels crowded and unlike what I’ve seen from other significant religious centers (like St. Paul’s in London, Notre Dame in Paris, etc). But the inside is breathtaking, and perhaps all the better for the exterior’s lack of beauty. The experience was all the better for having Olga as a tour guide. She was knowledgeable and enthused, and her enthusiasm rubbed off on me. It is obvious she loves the subject and is well versed in the history and significance of the building. I highly recommend booking her for a tour of this great building.
