Overview

Combine a visit to Santorini's caldera and hot springs with a trip out to the island of Thirasia with this cruise. You'll start at Nea Kameni, a volcanic island, where you'll have time to walk around the island and swim in its hot springs. You'll the cruise on to Thirasia, where you'll have enough time to have lunch and explore before sailing back to Santorini.

The tour will start from Ormos Firon “Old Port of Fira” which is accessible only by cable car 6€ /per way (depart every 20') or by walk down the 600 steps (30 mins walking). The meeting point is at "Santo Star" office at the old port. We expect all customers to arrive 30 minutes prior the dep. time.

What To Expect

Make your own way to the harborside meeting point or request hotel pickup (additional cost). After meeting your guide and group, board your vessel and set sail for the island of Nea Kameni.

At the jetty, you have the option of taking a guided tour to Santorini Volcano (additional fee) that takes you to the volcano’s ridge as your guide provides information about the history and geology of the volcano. After exploring the island, get back on the boat and sail to the island of Palea Kameni, which is known for its sulfurous hot springs and mud baths.

After dropping anchor near the beach, you can enjoy the healing powers of the shallow mineral waters in the bay of Agios Nicholaos.

Next stop is the tiny island of Thirassia, which you can explore at your own pace before getting back on the boat and returning to the harbor in Santorini.

Crew members were all very nice & helpful! Volcano hike was slightly challenging, wish we had more time to enjoy the spectacular view on top of the volcano hill! Would recommend to anyone who want a different Santorini experience! Oh, love the captain's playlist tho!

Great views, knowledgeable guide and 3 cool stops on the islands. Keep in mind that the first stop will be a track up to the top of the volcano. Bring water and comfortable shoes. The entire trip is about 6 hours. Drinks and coffee are offered on board. Really enjoyed the experience!

The guide and crew were knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The tour was great, just wear good walking shoes to climb the volcano island for amazing views, and bring a swimsuit if you want to swim from the Aegean into a hot (warm) spring. Our trip lasted 6 hours and ended at Thirasa Island with good restaurant options before we headed back to port.

Anna out tour guide was very knowledgeable and great at explaining the history of the volcano and the island of Santorini. We got a very hazy day so unfortunately weren't able to appreciate any of the views but I'm sure they are beautiful on a clear day. We didn't partake in the swimming as the temperatures in April are still on the cold side but I'm sure it's lovely in summer. The only downside was the lady checking us in at the office at the port acted like doing her job of checking people in was a major inconvenience to her.

Volcano trip

Was a good way to see Santorini Volacno. However, this is not for the faint hearted and is quite a hike to the top. Thirissa there wasn’t much to do unless you hike the great big hill, a couple of restaurants along the front to visit. The boat is more of a mode of transport than a relaxing boat trip. The hot springs were not able to be done if you have any breathing problems and looked quite underwhelming. Nice drinks on the boat and the staff are friendly.

Excellent value! I was expecting so much less on this cruise. We sailed in a beautiful vessel with an incredible crew and guide. Stopped at the caldera and hiked to the top, then stopped for a short swim in COLD hot springs water. 😄 On to the last island for a delicious meal and stroll. Then a cruise by half the length of Thira for pictures. Couldn't believe how much they packed in for the price! It was an awesome day.

Booked the day before, great experience, pack sunscreen. Tour guide provided great facts about the island and clearly explained when the boat was leaving each stop. He did say tours get very crowded and hot in the summer, so plan accordingly

This is a well managed tour. The tour guide Anna was super pleasant, friendly and gave us a lot of great insights about Santorini and its rich history! The hike to the top of the volcano is the highlight of this trip. Besides the fact that you're walking on a frikkin volcano, the view from the top is breathtaking. We didn't swim in the thermal waters but those who did seemed to have fun. Don't expect the water to be hot - it's lukewarm at best (we went in April). Thirassia is a bit underwhelming, not much to do there.

We are four including 10 and 13 years old kids. We enjoyed cruising and the view from the ocean. Delos is amazing place. You must go. In the beginning of April, the water is still cold. But other group enjoyed swimming. Food was fresh and good. I recommend it!

Good trip but management can be improved

Overall it was fine. This boat will definitely give you a different experience than the normal cruises. It is the easiest way to go volcano trekking if you want to. However, I felt that it was over booked. There were too many people as compared to the size of the boat. Also, I felt the guide could have been more focused if it would have been a smaller group. We lost the guide in the volcano and they just left with the boat without us. Thankfully a fellow boat agency agreed to drop us to the next place but in all this confusion, we completely missed the hot springs because we reached there (through the other boat) late. Shouldn't they have counted the people before leaving the volcano island.

I really enjoyed this tour. Something for everyone. The hike up the caldera is a bit of a workout but worth it. I didn’t swim at the hot springs but enjoyed soaking up the sun at the front of the boat. The lunch stop in Therasia was perfect. Picked a restaurant and enjoyed a picturesque meal.

We had a wonderful day. The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The crew were helpful. The music was fun. Hiking to the caldera was challenging but the views were awesome. The swimming was fun and being on Thirassia was lovely. The ride home and getting to see Oia and Fira from the sea was inspiring.
