There are plenty of bus tours from Sorrento and beyond to the Amalfi Coast, but few tours take advantage of the coast’s marvelous—and traffic-free—waters. This semi-independent tour takes you to Amalfi and Positano by boat, stopping at a fjord, the Li Galli Islands, and swimming spots along the way. It’s a nearly full-day tour, so free time spent in Amalfi and Positano is a planned part of the itinerary.

What better way could there be to take in the amazing coastal views of Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi then a nearly private boat ride down the coast? The scenic landscapes were breathtaking. This tour also allowed us to experience the best of Amalfi and Positano. We shopped, drank espresso, and ate local in some of the most sought after locations along the Amalfi coast. Elena was an incredible guide. Friendly and knowledgeable. She enhanced this experience in every way.

We had a great trip on the boat to see the Amalfi coast and with the two stops in Amalfi and Positano. If the Fjord is an important stop, be sure to request that at the start of the trip. In one part of the description, when I booked, it said there would be a stop there, another part said you would just see it. We didn't go close...we just drove by it from a distance, when I asked, it was too late. The captain and first mate were delightful, the day was the perfect way to see a lot in a short period of time. There were about 12 of us and it was great to hang out with and meet other travelers in this beautiful environment! I would recommend and do it again!

What better way to see the Amalfi coast.

I could not imagine not been able to see the amazing coastline small beaches and entering Amalfi and Positano from the dock. To me it is the best way to see the area, the small caves and unique areas to swim in. It was also great to have an excellent operator guide like Flavio who knows all the good spots.

Great tour with Francesco. 1.5 hours in each Amalfi and Positano. Fruit and drinks served on board. I’m glad I got to see the coast by sea. Don’t expect a ton of narration. It was mostly quiet on the boat, but if we had questions, we’d ask and Francesco happily provided more info. And there was some easygoing music with the option to make requests. For me, swimming was to be a highlight. But only a fraction of my tour mates were into it, which made me feel a little rushed or silly for asking if we would check out a second swimming spot. Not the fault of the tour but awkward to be the only one in the water. To give you an idea what you can accomplish at each stop, here’s what I did. Almalfi: grab a pastry and cappuccino at Pansa, enjoy on the steps of the cathedral, take a spin around the cathedral, pop into the shops and get back on the boat. Positano: start climbing that hill to get some views. I stopped at a cafe, I think it was called Dolce & Salato, for a sandwich, spritz and views before heading down into the shops and back onto the boat. Enjoy!

A must for everyone, a day touring the Amalfi coast on a boat!

Loved it. Great combination of sea and land with enough free time to explore. Each stop had a public and private beach to get extra sun time if you didn't want to go into town. Flavio was so knowledgeable giving us the highlights from each of the areas too. So fun.

Great tour ! Nice view of the Amalfi coast on boat. Small group! We had a great day on the water, tour guide offered us drinks and at the end a fruit salad. Stopped twice for a swim off Positano, water was amazing. We only stayed for about an hour at each stop due to the crowds which was fine. Unfortunately, I got really sick towards the end of the trip due to the heat and couldn't enjoy the swim. If we ever visit again this would be the first tour I do! Cheers!

Great experience with Renato and Vincenzo. They looked after my wife who was pregnant the whole time and made sure she had a good experience. Their boat is definitely one of the fastest on that seas, making a trip all the way to Amalfi possible.

The captain and first mate were excellent - lots of fun - got the group of people who didn't know each other to enjoy each other's company. Gave pointers to visiting the towns - both of which were terribly crowded. Allowed plenty of time for photos near scenic sites from boat. Took pictures of us and each guest. Provided yummy treats - fruit plate, champagne, alternate beverages. Best part was swimming in the Sea! I was very nervous about it, but they were so encouraging and it was the best part of the day.

Great time traveling the Amalfi Coast by boat! What a gorgeous way to see it! Our time in Amalfi and Positano were just enough for a taste of both cities. The swimming was refreshing and our crew was fantastic. If you want to see this area but want to wait in traffic, this is the way to go!

The area is pretty and the fact that people have built and lived there for so long is amazing. But realize the lower elevations are primarily dedicated to tourists and shopping. Francesco was a good boat driver but we did not get a lot of history. Am guessing he would have explained more if asked. Nicely paced tour and very hospitable.
