This tour was awesome! Our guide Sam was great - very friendly and knowledgeable. He even customized the winery visits to the group's preferences. The wildlife park was a wonderful way to start - up close views of all the Aussie creatures you want to see! And it's just enough time to see the animals there before heading to the wineries. All of the wineries we visited were lovely - very welcoming staff and enjoyed the tastings! We had lunch at the cheese shop, which was delicious! The brewery was a nice stop as well. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sydney!

Great Experience
Tyler_K, Mar 2024
So much fun! Sam has such a great sense of humor and was a great guide. Every vineyard had such great things to say about him. 10/10 would recommend!!
A Small Taste of Australia

Being able to pet a Koala bear was a once in a lifetime experience. We loved the wine tasting and the laid back nature of the tour with our guide Sam.
Nice day out
Lucy_A, Feb 2024
Nice tour, the wildlife park is really nice and obvious animals well looked after, I personally would prefer lunch at a winery rather than a resort, the first winery I didn’t rate - Allandale, just wasn’t great at all. Second winery was beautiful and really good - Bon Villa, and would be nice to have a bit livelier music on way home. With a change of lunch venue and changing out first winery would be 5 star. Sam was a really good guide and knowledgable.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Hi Lucy, thanks for taking the time to review the tour. Glad you had a nice time. Sorry you weren't impressed with Allandale but glad you enjoyed Bonvilla. All very subjective of course as many guests do love Allandale. Unfortunately a vineyard lunch isn't currently an option for the majority of our guests (A$80+ meal cost) however the views of the resort lake often with kangaroos in the background (there were a lot today!) seems to please the vast majority of our guests. The music on the way back to Sydney will always be pretty chilled as the vast majority of our guests happily sleep. We have learnt through experience that a lively soundtrack isn't generally appreciated. Always a challenge to please everyone though! The tour's always evolving and improving as much as we can!

Visit to Reptile Centre - lots to see not just reptiles but also native Australian species. Highlight of tour together with excellent lunch in lovely surroundings. 2 vineyards tasting and pleasant fellow travellers made for a good trip - would recommend.
Perfect wine day
Rita_G, Nov 2023
We had a perfect day with several wine, cheese and chocolate tastes and a wonderful lunch. The guide was also excellent and our tour group has been perfect.
Two in one trip
CEYDA_K, Nov 2023
Sam was our tour guide and also driver his wine and Hunter Valley knowledge was excellent. We started with wild life. It was so nice that we could touch the koala and kangaroo. One chocolate and cheese tasting and 2 wine yard visits were really good. A very nice lunch in a golf club was a good surprise. I could only complain about bad weather it was very rainy ☔️☔️☔️☔️day that we couldn’t enjoy outside much. Second complaint is our mini bus was little small for 10 people and old model that for a long day tour it wasn’t that comfortable. Overall thanks to Sam we enjoyed our tour.
I highly recommend this wine tasting trip.
Anitta_L, Oct 2023
The driver Sam was a real professional! We received detailed instructions about the trip in advance, the small group was nice. The trip proceeded according to the customers' schedule. The driver spoke interestingly about wines, Australia and the country's culture. I highly recommend this trip.
Great day!

Relaxed, fun

Fun experience with a very knowledgeable guide. We had a great day! We even saw wild kangaroos in the vineyards.
Price advertise on your Viator website not correct
Angeline_S, May 2023
The wildlife experience however your advertisement of $125pp is not accurate as we were made to pay another $70 pp + $10 wine tasting by the land operator , we paid it but would appreciate an explanation as to why your website only say $125 to join the tour ?😓
Response from Host, May 2023
We personally contact every guest who books with Viator to ensure all charges are understood. All such charges are actually outlined in the tour list of inclusions & exclusions however not all guests read this information (as Angeline didn't). If any guest missed the full costs and wishes to cancel, we make it clear they can and obtain a full refund. There would never be any pressure to keep a booking. Angeline had the option to cancel with a full refund however decided she still wanted to go ahead. One of the exclusions is the Wildlife Park Entry, Koala Experience & Kangaroo feeding as well as all taxes & insurance which total A$70pp. Wine tasting A$10pp is also optional as not everyone wants to participate in wine tasting (children, non-drinkers, pregnant guests etc.). So we don't feel our guests should pay for something they won't do. So the advertisement is 100% accurate if you read the full tour description with inclusions and exclusions. Please contact Kangarrific Tours directly if you have any concerns about any of the tour costs.
Good trip to the hunter with Reptile park stop
RODRIGO_V, Mar 2023
Very nice coach service with a friendly and knowledgeable Aussie guide. He accommodates the trip to you and makes you feel comfortable at all times. You need to know that this company asks you to pay an extra of ~ $100 pp on top of what you are paying Viator.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
To clarify, there was no 'extra' charge as this review states. The tour price is simply broken up whereby A$125 is paid to Trip Adivsior/Viator at the time of booking and the remainder is paid on the tour. The separate charge of A$70 goes to directly to the wildlife park to cover a discounted entry, koala experience, insurance and taxes. This is clearly noted on the exclusions list. The full cost of this tour per person if you wish to include wine tasting and lunch is A$230 (~US$150, £125, €140) This was actually discussed via email to Rodrigo 3 days before his tour and he was happy with this set up. So we're not quite sure why this is mentioned in his review. We would never surprise any guests with a hidden charge...I don't think we'd be still operating after 12 years if we did. If you would like any further clarification on the tour charges, please visit the Kangarrific Tours website. Oh and we should also clarify, we don't use a coach. We use a luxury minibus with a maximum of 11 guests per tour. It allows us to give a more personal experience.
Well Done!

We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Sam was knowledgeable, helpful, and made sure everyone on our tour was able to enjoy themselves in a personalized way.
A Great Day in the Hunter Valley wine Region
Duane_R, Feb 2023
A great way to spend a day outside of Sydney, tasting wines, cheese tasting, chocolate sampling and viewing a unique wildlife preserve. We had a good lunch at the Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort golf course and saw a lot of roos on the course. Tour guide was told us al a lot about the Hunter Valley Wine region and wines in general.
Hunter Valley
dshirebills, Feb 2020
Very enjoyable. Sam is very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Great lunch at the Smelly Cheese Store, along with great tastings. Really enjoyed the Walkabout Wildlife Park petting the koala bear.
Wonderful tour but can be improved
krovira2801, Jan 2020
Sam was really nice and wanted us to have a fantastic trip. We started at the Walkabout Wildlife Park to pet the most amigable Kangaroos and Koala!!!! We fell in love with them and wanted to have a little more time with the animals which were adorable!!! Then from there we made a stop at a chocolate factory which we could really avoid but that is when Sam gets in contact with the vineyards he chose for the specific group at the moment after asking us what is it that we personally like, plus its a bathroom stop as well. After that stop we went to our first Vineyard which was Peterson but it was not what we expected. The guy at the winery just gave us the name of the wine but didn’t do anything additional To explain either the process or the personality of each wine. The stop at Smelly Cheese was absolutely worth it! We didn’t know the Hunter Valley had such great cheeses and the explanation of them was wonderful as well. Then we had a really good lunch right there where they also had a Japanese restaurant in a beautiful place. After that, we really liked our stop at the Ernest Hill vineyard where Jackie gave us one of the best wine tasting experiences and the wine is quite good! We ended up buying 4 bottles of wine. The tour ended driving through a wonderful highway full of vegetation. Sam was wonderful but there is room for improvement.
Response from Host, Jan 2020
Hi there, thanks joining the tour and for the lovely review! Please get in touch though and let us know what you thought could have been improved...the review sounded like it was 5 stars!
Best Day Ever!
eleanorbartsch, Jan 2020
Do this tour! I mean... the day starts out with petting and taking selfies with koalas and kangaroos—can’t go wrong. We had the best time. The day was packed with lots of activities but that’s how we like to travel. Even so it still felt relaxing. Sam was an awesome guide: he kept us on track but was really easygoing and super informative! The wineries were picturesque. Definitely recommend!
