What To Expect

Begin your day trip with a pickup from your central Tel Aviv hotel. Board your air-conditioned coach and travel through the plains and mountains of the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea.

Along the way, hear about the region’s ancient past and pass the site of the Inn of the Good Samaritan, thought to be the location of the much-loved biblical parable.

Glimpse the ancient city of Jericho in the distance and catch sight of the shimmering Dead Sea as you descend to this extraordinary salt lake. Located at the lowest point on Earth — around 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level — its waters are over 10 times saltier than sea water and contain a rich blend of natural minerals.

Arrive at a Dead Sea set by the water’s edge and enjoy ample free time to relax and enjoy your surroundings as you wish. Take a ‘swim’ in the salt-rich waters, lounge on the shore, and enjoy refreshments (own expense) at the café. Perhaps enjoy a mud bath in the world's richest source of natural salts or indulge in the therapeutic mud treatments (own expense) at the spa.

Your tour then ends with a hotel drop-off in Tel Aviv.

Didn’t get what we signed up for
Jacqui_L, Jul 2023
We didn’t get what we signed up for. We were supposed to have ~ 2.5 hours at the dead sea after making a few stops before. Well first we stopped at some cheesy Elvis rest stop for coffee. There was no significance of this nor was it needed. Our guide asked asked if we wanted to go with rest of group to Masada. We said no we had been already that’s why we booked Dead Sea only. After, we stopped at the lowest point sign as advertised which was good. Then they dropped us off at the Dead Sea at 930am and said they’d be back and we’d all leave at 330pm. That seemed long but at the time didn’t realize how long that was. That was way too long. But to make matters worse at 330 we found guide and he said it was now moved to 430pm. At that point we said no we need to leave. This was way longer than what we signed up for. We were supposed to be back in Tel Aviv at 440pm according to our confirmation. Anyway the guide did find us another ride back. He was great But the trip itself was not at all what we signed up for. Don’t advertise 2.5 hours at the Dead Sea when it’s really 6-7. Wouldn’t not use this company agsin

It is important to us to ensure that our guests receive the experience they signed up for and that we coordinate expectations effectively.
Relax not relaxing
Elizabeth_D, May 2023
We started the tour with the promise of a coffee break to have breakfast, which didn’t occur. Then the four of us whom book this tour, we’re dropped on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea, alone, for a “relaxation day”, which had nothing of relaxing. Crowded, laud, horrible facilities and also expensive. After 6 hours they came for us, and after one hour trip, two wheels of the bus exploded. I can say thanks god I arrived safely.

There are very few beaches available for a day on the Dead Sea. We try our best where we can visit but cannot be held responsible. We will pass this review on to the Beach management. (Hotels 65km south! have private beaches with Spa facilities etc at a much higher price! )

The guide was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the Dead Sea. I wish someone offered a shorter tour just to the Dead Sea and back.
My journey in Dead Sea

Amazing joy and experience being in salt water, floating and pulling soft black muds from the grounds and robbing it on your skin. I can not describe the feeling but I hope everyone would get the opportunity to experience this incredible moment and completely relax. Thank you Viator for connecting me to best tours.

Hey people, I have used the opportunity to go to the Dead Sea Spa. As we were the only ones in the group we have preferred to visit Masada after kindly asked the group to take us with them. The trip was well organized, many things well explained. The quality of the services was very good. We saw the desert for the first time and it was exciting. The beauty of Masada is special. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth and the properties of the water itself is extraordinary. The beach was clean, well maintained. Grab with you some supplies and there is also food and drinks in shops. Enjoy and have a beautiful time!

I had two tours with Viator, there supplier is Bein Harim, Ltd. I toured Jerusalem and Bethlehem on one day, and the other Masada and Dead Sea. Can I just say amazing!!!! I was blessed to have Yoav, as a tour guide for both tours. Yoav, was very knowledgable, professional, kind hearted and fun!!! Ave and Hannie were the drivers equally as amazing!! Thank you. This was a great experience. I was only going to the Dead Sea on my bucket list and our tour guide Itamar, recommended going to Masada too. I'm so glad that he did as it made a great day and even better experience.

Barry R, Sep 2017
Hotel pick up to transfer point was well organised and dropped off directly to our hotel at the end. What more is there to say about that! Trip was wonderful with Itimar as a great informative guide throughout with plenty of helpful tips to make the day as smooth as possible. Dead sea certainly is an exceptional experience but please be careful to and from the waters edge as can be unsteady ground at times.

Vladimir B, Jun 2017
The tour was ok, but I dont know what they mean about Spa and Wellness, because there was a small chair for massage outside, that was all, no swiming pool or any other procedures... Chairs on the beach are for free, that was ok. The guide was very nice, he spoke very interestingly. There is restaurant in buffet style, not cheap and food was nothing special.

Ended up also going to see Masada on the suggestion of Yaov our tour guide. Was really glad that I did. He is very knowledgeable and a good teacher, it was worth seeing in addition to spending time floating on the Dead Sea.

Tour was good, guide gave lots of information on the trip to Dead Sea. Driver was good but drove very slowly. The tour said we would visit ( short stop) at Qumran Cave, but we did not visit this sight. Our tour was combined with a trip to Musada, so we were dropped at the Dead Sea for the day

Great tour guide, lots of helpful information and really friendly. Smooth drive, no problems. Only criticism, the 5 hours allocated for the dead sea spa trip was probably too generous, 3 hours would have been more than enough!

Trevor_F, Jun 2014
We originally booked only for the Dead Sea and Wellness Spa Day tour but on route reconsidered as we were travelling on the same coach as those who were doing the Masada and Dead Sea combined tour and was pleased we had made the change as I feel for the long coach trip to the Dead Sea it wasn't worth spending the several hours simply lazing by the Dead Sea whilst the hour tour and the lunch break at Masada was an interesting and informative trip and you could still spend an hour or two at the Dead Sea, enough I feel.

kerri s, Apr 2014
Very unorganized. What I thought was a half day tour ended up being 12 hours mostly because of the lack of organizational skills and I was unaware when I booked that they were sending me with a company I did a tour with the day before and didn't like the company.

Jordan M K, May 2013
We thought the trip would just be a ride to the dead sea and back (which is hard and expensive to do on your own), but it was much longer. We were picked up from our hotel, taken to a central station, from there we made a stop in Jerusalem to pick up others, and then it appeared that we were on our way. However, even after that we made a stop in an area for people to take pictures with camels and the Ahava factory. Overall, the 2 hour drive took close to 4 hours. The Dead Sea area they took us to was very nice and had a decent cafe. Spa services were weak and I would not recommend them.
