Tour was fantastic. Merona was great - gave a lot of pertinent, detailed and interesting information during all parts of the trip. I highly recommend the trip especially if you can get Merona as your guide.

Trip Was Awesome!

Fantastic trip today. Merona is the best guide and has fantastic insight into the history and culture of all we saw at Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea. What a great day!

Run, don’t stop. Dont take this tour.

So, I booked this tour because we had some people in our group that had never been to these places. Luckily for that I was able to explain a bit about what we were doing and where we were going because the tour guide was absolutely horrible. From the arguing that was occurring between the bus driver (who was a great driver) and the tour guide to the time to grab a quick lunch at 330 in the afternoon to the lack of any real conversation about the sights we were seeing along the way and the fact we had to go from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to pick up another group and the tour guide (wasn’t stated before the trip) I would absolutely never choose this tour again. We took a lot of tours during our trip, this was hands down the worst.
Waste of time and money

Just horrible, the tour just skipped ein gedi and it basically consists of 7 hours on the bus. Guide was horrible and unfriendly. I regret having wasted a full day and seen very little. Stop at Dead Sea only 30 minutes was allowed.
Ein Gedi, Masada, Dead Sea tour experience
MaryHelen_K, Apr 2023
It was a full day and enjoyable. The communication was not great however. We did not know if the trip would still occur in light of the fact that it was a Holiday. We didn’t hear back from the contracted tour company that Viatr uses. When we called the number the person answering did not provide good customer service at all. Also it was advertised as 9 hours but was 12 hours. We called in fact the day before and was told 9 hours as advertised in print. The hike at Ein Gedi was not described ahead of time and it was rigorous. It was beautiful and was worth it, but we should have been informed and better communication would have helped. There was only one pick up location. We were almost two miles away and because of the holiday, car services were limited. Had we not gotten a car we would have had to walk in an unfamiliar area in the dark. Masada was so fascinating!! More time at Dead Sea was needed. The driver was great..safe driving and nice when I spilled my coffee. The windows needed cleaning for better views. The bus didn’t have phone charging capabilities but the driver was very accommodating and offered his. The guide was not with us until an hour into the drive. It would be preferable to have the guide there the whole time so we could hear more about what we were seeing on the drive. He was dropped off earlier too. Overall an amazing day!! Ein Gedi was absolutely beautiful! Breathtaking! Masada was spectacular!! The views and history were fascinating! We were too rushed at Dead Sea. That was a very cool experience though.
DISORGANISED TOUR, TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET -DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!

Let’s start this review at a meeting point. Everyone had been given different coloured bracelets for different tours. I sat at the front of the bus and was told later to move because the space was for the tour guide. They were trying to relocate me but the bus was fully booked and there was no other space left except the “tour guide’s chair”. We then stopped at the cafe, which at the end of the trip I’ve realised that was only a few moments away from the Dead Sea. I would have asked to be dropped at the Dead Sea straight from the Cafe had I known this beforehand because of the following reasons: 1. Masada was a hike to see some waterfalls and views that were nice but this trip took a while because some people in the group weren’t as fast as the others but we all had to wait-that took so much time. 2. Ein Gedi is interesting, it showed a lot of Israel’s history and the cable card ride was amazing but again, this tour took ao long. Over 4 hours. THERE WAS NO ORGANISATION, this is where lunch was served for an extra fee of 70 Shekels with the choice of 2 meat and vegetables, drink and a fruit. The lunch was substantial but not special. This is where a great deal of time was wasted. Finally, we got to the Dead Sea where we were given 40 minutes. YES, ONLY 40 MINUTES TO BUY A TICKET TO ENTER, CHANGE FOR SWIMSUIT AND WALK DOWN (took me 5minutes with all the stairs). If your main purpose like me is to see Dead Sea, DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR. There’s a lot of messing about and quite expensive for what it was. Not even a free bottle of water. And on top of that, our bus didn’t have an air conditioning, broken microphone and broken wi-fi. The driver was good, the tour guide was a hit and miss but to sum it all up I have never seen such a disorganised tour in my life!
It tour was OK bit can improve
Arnold_M, Mar 2023
First of all, the bus is late for over 30 min, its not your first time doing this tour, you should already calculate the traffic ahead of time so your client is not waiting. Time is gold.. and is 630 am.. and your reason is traffic 🤦‍♂️. The tour guide was really good and very fluent with english. But she needs to talk less a little bit. Give us time to explore the area not just after she explains then moved to different area. In the Masada national park she mention will be there around 45-1 hr but we spend over 2 hours, because she talks aloft every single places. I get you want to explain the history about everything but remember we dont have the luxury of time. Just pick up the most important explain it then thats it. After all not everyone will remember what you say after. Just being honest. Just give time to the tourist to explore the area. She keeps talking and ending up taking all the time. We have no Lunch at all. At the Dead sea area. We got there at 3pm already. We only have 1 hours to do everything change and go to the dead sea. Also its not easy, its a long walk plus we need to get to eat there too, if you want, but not alot of option to eat anyway, just drinks. I think this tour needs to make use the times wisely. Its either leave early in tel aviv.
Educational and fun tour
John_M, Mar 2023
The Dead Sea was so interesting. Fun time there. Great educational learning tour of Masada. Ein Gedi was a good hike, but not an easy one.
Needs to be done!!
Kyle_O, Jan 2023
Dotan was amazing!! And Sonny the driver was great! The three sites were perfect matches.. definitely a great day trip for those looking to experience the country side of Israel!!
Great experience!
Linda_S, Nov 2022
This is a long, but wonderful day! After a nice overview by our guide, we had time to wander around Masada on our own. The same with Ein Gedi, which is perfect since there is a beautiful hike there and some people did not or were not able to do the entire hike. Nice to go at our pace. The Dead Sea was a fun experience. Again, we had an overview, then time to experience it on our own. I do recommend bringing water shoes, as it is more rocky in the water than I expected. You can rent lockers and towels, and there are also showers.
From fortresses to the beaches - Something for everyone
Daphne_C, Sep 2022
Sammy (our driver) and Limor (our guide) provided wonderful commentary throughout the tour and created a great atmosphere on the bus. They also , streamlined the purchasing of tickets to allow us to avoid queues. There was no pressure to purchase anything. Masada, Ein gedi, the Judea desert, and the Dead Sea were each unique in their own way. From seeing ibex in the wild, to Bedouin camps, palm plantations and fortresses to the many interesting sites on the way from Tel Aviv and through Jerusalem every aspect of the trip had something to offer. It is best to do this trip when the weather is <32 degrees.
WOW JUST WOW
Angela_M, Aug 2022
What an amazing and interesting day out, this really was all due to our fabulous Guide Amir. We met him and he was full of interesting facts along the way, with a fabulous sense of humour. Masada was explained in a brilliant and interesting way, he always asked if we had questions and answered them fully. Ein gedi is very pretty an oasis in the desert then plenty of time at the Dead Sea to mud up and clean off! An added bonus at Dead Sea for people like myself who can struggle with steps there is a free shuttle to and from the beach. Amir and driver Yankele certainly made the day as fabulous as it was and kept us safe at all times - we would 100% recommend this tour - Tourist Israel were local agent and certainly do a great job
Great

The tour guide and the bus driver were the best. It was really an experience that I probably will never experience again
Okay
Daniel_L, Jun 2022
Overall sites were nice to see, but underwhelming guide. It’s just walking around Masada, or Ein Gedi without any real guidance or leadership
Horribly organized
Marianna_L, May 2022
We were at the meeting point at 6:25, there were other people, but no one from the company. In about 10 min I saw a bus parking around the corner, but again no one came to talk to us. Almost at 7am, a guy who barely spoke English waved everyone in, but didn’t check any reservations and only said that we were going to Jerusalem, which confused some of the tourists since everyone was there for different tours and some didn’t have it in the itinerary. The bus driver didn’t speak English at all and wouldn’t turn the AC off, so people were freezing. Once in Jerusalem it didn’t get much better, cuz there was still lots of confusion with who stays on the bus and who’s not. A guide finally showed up and was rather rude to my friend who just tried to clarify things. We ended up bringing a different group through the traffic on top of the mount Olive and at that time we’re 1,5 hours behind the schedule. When we asked our guide if there’s going to be a bathroom and coffee stop, he first refused because he wanted to catch in on time, but we reminded him, that we were on the bus for 3 hours at this point. The guide wasn’t very captivating and kept repeating himself which was distracting especially in comparison with the guide from a different company we had a day prior, so we opted to explore Masada on our own. We checked in with him what time do we need to be back and he was adamant that we need to leave not later than noon. We got back 10 min prior not hold the group back and ended up waiting for everyone till 12:35pm with some others who opted not to join the guide. We were worried they have left without us. Due to this delay we were told to cut short our time in Ein Gedi which had half of the group almost rebel. Most of the people felt disappointed and even we really liked the sites, I’d say we should have just booked a car to explore on our own.
Superb sights!
Joanna_M, May 2022
The experiences themselves were sensational but the organisation of the trip was diabolical. Were loaded onto a bus (late) from Tel Aviv without any explanation, 3 hours later after picking up others/ further delays we were on our way to Masada. Time spent at each location was ok for me but not as described in the itinerary as a result of the delays, so some disappointed travellers. I would do this trip again purely because as a lone traveller it’s easier, but if you have the option to drive yourself would throughly recommend it to avoid delays.
Just ok
Abby_M, Apr 2022
This tour is just ok. There is a lot left out and misleading information on this webpage: * If you leave from Tel Aviv, it will take 4 hours (instead of 2) to get to Masada because of stops in Jerusalem and a gas station. * The dead sea beach is not free. * The tour guide wants you to bring cash so he can pay entrance fees without waiting in line. * The tour limit is 50 people not 30! * no food or drinks on the bus (and no time for food stops on the tour) Bring lot sof snacks and meals. You stop at a gas station for a snack first thing in the morning, and there is no time to eat at the other stops if you want to do the activities. Only an hour at each stop. The tour guide wouldn't let us stop for food. The tour guide is ok, he threw in some interesting facts but was not especially enthusiastic, and kept lecturing everyone like we were school kids, because he was stressed about being able to do everything in one day. If it's too much for 1 day they should change the itinerary and consider a smaller group. Also the tour guide would tell us to meet a half hour before he showed up at the end of each stop. Basically, we saw everything we wanted to see but it was not an enjoyable day. This is our vacation, my kids first time in Israel, the tour guide and company should keep that in mind.
Must See

A once in a lifetime experience with the best tour guide in the business, I cannot recommend this trip enough.
Great locations, great guide!

What a wonderful day! Nice group of interesting people, phantastic locations, and a kind and very well informed guide! Sivan is the rare kind of guide who has academic/historical background and can explain in a way that is easy to understand.
Amazing
