We had a fantastic time, pickup from our hotel was prompt and took us to base camp swiftly. Our guide Made, was informative and very helpful in the trickier parts of the trek. He gave us some really interesting information on Balinese culture and Batur itself. He made the hike seem very quick and enjoyable. Whilst waiting for the sunrise we were given hot beverages and a breakfast that were great. The sunrise itself is a beautiful sight and the hot springs are a great way to wind down after! 10/10 5*s would recommend!

Amazing views at the top

This was one of the main trips we wanted to do on our honeymoon, it was a very early start! at 2:15am! and a long drive to the foot of Batur where we met our guide Sary. The hike in the dark was hard, very steep in places and took about 3 hours to reach the summit. But all thanks to Sary we made it in time! She was so full of encouragement and helped every step of the way, we made it to the top in time for an incredible sunrise! Breakfast was a yummy banana sandwich and a boiled egg cooked in volcanic steam washed down with a cup of hot tea, it’s chilly at the top! Amazing sense of achievement, made the views at the top even more special. We would highly recommend this trip to Bali visitors but beware that the hike is hard in places.

The hike was a tad more difficult than I had expected but well worth it once I reached the top. Watching the sun rise from up high was so beautiful. Our guide was awesome. I really enjoyed the hot springs.

This was a great part of our vacation to Ubud. I would agree with previous reviews that it is pretty hard, that you need good tennis shoes or hiking boots, if you have a headlamp I would consider bringing it. There are limited bathrooms and you will need to provide your own TP and likely pay for the ones on the climb. I wish I had had some cash to purchase some of the hand-crafted items being sold at the top, as well.

Trek was nice but coffee plantation visit was a total waste.

The Mt Batur trek with guides itself is a fine option but the trip to the Coffee plantation afterwards was a typical tourist trap. We bought some Luwak coffee there & later found out that we had overpaid about 5 times more than what it costs elsewhere. So buyer beware. If they get rid of the coffee plantation tour from this trek than this would make it a good tour. Also please note that the trek itself is quite hard, very steep mountain to climb. It’s not for everyone. And on the day we went it was very cloudy & didn’t get to see the sunrise after all that effort :(. I don’t hold that against the tour operators but something to keep in mind.

The tour guide was very unprofessional he walked so fast with his slim body up careless of his group multiple calls happened up and down some of them could be fatal , the people in the group helped each other to stay alive and survive the adventure the tour guide all why he cares about is how to reach top as fast as possible and finally when we reached top he disappeared while other tour guides taking pictures of their groups I asked other tour guides to help me with taking pics , ours said he isn’t photographer and always threatened to leave and get another tour guide , breakfast was yakky he boiled eggs not in away decribed in tour by volcano steam he said it will take long time , the worst to come on way down he decided on his own to take shorter route so all tours around us took the easy safer way down but he decided to take that very dangerous route down which is almost vertical and very steep with stones sliding easy multiple falls again with no tours around but us , this guy is very dangerous to be taken people up and down some one will be killed soon with his careless behavior he him self is not interested said that his boss put him in that position but he doesn’t like it rude argument carless , ruined the beauty of the place I did enjoy help from other guides and other members of group , I took time to write this so no one will get hurt or go with that auful experience with that guide Newman

All is going well and fine so far and this is our first time got complaining like this and one think that should you know Manwis is the most favorit guide at batur volcano and 95% most our customers were very happy and recommended and you may look all our rating and reveiws as well, we do like working profesionl as we can but we do undersatd that we’re sosial life could be bad and good and no bo day is perfect on this world. So please be considerate if you don’t want get fall down and get steep way please don’t do hike and don’t go to volcano, so if you want Relax, our recommend is please go to beach, shoping, spa so you just sit, lie down and sleep. I think it will be better then going to the mountain, cause your level condation is not mact for hike ing the your tired spread out to Another people to make complain and problem. But any way thnak you for your complaining and hope you may considerate again if you want do something so you don’t get any problem again for yourself. If yoy are not into hiking then this will be a challenge. The way to the top is steep and coming down isn't easy either. However, when you reach the top, you know it's worth it. A stunning view and u do get to enjoy a moment of serinety. It's cold so don't forget to get a jacket, else they rent jackets for 50K and trust me you will need it if you don't tolerate cold weather, some people do. You should try this at least once.

Young solo female traveller (what you must know)

I booked this experience as a young solo female traveller totally spontaneously only about 6 hours before it happened. At first I was really nervous and scared because I hadn’t done anything like this alone, and I was unsure whether it would be safe or if I could finish the climb. But the agency contacted me immediately after my booking, and were so kind answering my questions about who would be on the trip that night. I was told that due to construction the hot springs were closed and I would get a $20 AUD refund, but I would have appreciated knowing that before I booked, as well as how many people would be going each night. However, I still had to get in the van to the mountain at 1:30am with two men who I didn’t know, and I was obviously very nervous. The other two people that night wouldn’t be getting picked up for another hour, but Jodi the driver was so kind and did his best to reassure me and make me feel safe. The climb itself is difficult, but completely doable for a person of moderate fitness. My guide was fantastic, he kept us safe, set a decent pace and kept an eye on everyone. He also carried my bag, and was just a fun person overall, an absolute champ! I’m so sorry I don’t remember your name, but if the agency recognises him, please do contact me and tell me it! Unfortunately, we went on a cloudy day and so we didn’t get that classic shot of the sunrise, but nonetheless the view is beautiful and the experience was so personally rewarding. I highly recommend it. Afterwards, we went to a coffee plantation, which was very interesting and offered more views of the country. It had been raining really hard that night, so there had been a landslide which blocked the main road, but Jodi handled this like an absolute legend, was obviously comfortable with the tiny roads and was just fantastic overall. He’s a great person to be around if you’re stuck in a car for 3 hours at a time, we blasted music on the way back! He made me feel very safe and was an amazing driver. Overall, I do recommend that you have this experience while in Bali!

Was a really good trip. Our driver Bayou was attentive, chatty and very friendly. Our guide Maanwiss for the hike set a good pace for us and was great in making us feel comfortable even when it was cold on the top of the mountain. Great photos and views, and the walk back down through the village was very nice. The hot springs was good to have after our walk. Thank you guys!

Our tour guide was a beautiful and genuine soul with amazing insight. He was patient with us and helpful in guiding us through tricky rocks. The sunrise was beautiful but what I took from this experience was the beauty in the journey.

Incredible tour! The hike was more difficult than I thought but our guide Manwis was sooooo helpful and made us able to get to the top. He was such a nice guy and helped make the experience so good. If you want to do this experience, make sure to have at least some level of fitness.

Amazing hike of Mt. Batur! My guide Maanwiss and I had an amazing time as it was just us. We hiked up in only an hour and then watched the sunrise. Maanwiss was a great guide and helped me take a ton of great pictures! Would definitely recommend this tour
