This was the highlight of our Bali trip. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We learned some Balinese and had great laughs. The dishes were superb - just like what you would get at a Balinese restaurant or food vendor. A great inter-generational family business that we were very happy to support. For USD25, this was a bargain and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Everything Done for You, but Fun

So nice to have hotel pickup and drop-off and Tata was very kind and informative at the market and rice field. Cooking class is meant for extreme beginners in that all the work is done for you except cooking in a pan. I would have enjoyed the final result more if I chopped, mashed, portioned, etc. from scratch. You get to practice a few techniques, then they replace your prep with their own. Everyone eats together in the end and it was good. Lots of oil used so be prepared to small like grease afterwards. Nice to be able to buy a beer to sip on during class.

Delicious Day Out

This was fun and enjoyable activity packed with value. The guided walk through the food market was very interesting. We had an opportunity to try some exotic fruits and sweets as we saw everything from live chickens to spice vendors. We also had a photo op in front of a local rice field before we went to our cooking class. Everyone got to participate preparing and cooking all the dishes. We sampled each dish as we completed them, then had a grand buffet at the end. The instructor was great and the entire family assisted in making sure everything was perfect. It was a great way to make new friends, too.

Great experience. Was nice to drive out of city centre. Driver was great and informative. We are a family with 2 teenagers and they also enjoyed it. The food was delicious.

Great cooking experience with Wayan

The day was a fun atmosphere with a group of 11 people. It started with a visit to a local market where you could buy some spices that were used in your cooking on the day. Wayan, the cook was great. He explained the dishes well and let us do the majority of the cooking. The food was really nice and was very filling. Leftovers were able to be taken home for dinner. It was a great way to meet some local people, see where and how they live and have some fun. The driver was on time for pick up. Everyone spoke good English. Overall the day out was an enjoyable experience. I would recommend people doing this cooking class.

Amazing cooking class , one of the best ones i’ve done , it was so organised and the chef who was teaching our group knew exactly what he was talking about , the food we produced was delicious and overall was just an amazing experience !

The cooking class was a delight, we went to the morning class which included a tour of a local market. Our instructor taught us about some of the unique fruits and vegetables they had there. We also went to see the rice fields, and then we were brought to the kitchen where we had to cook 9 meals with the ingredients provided. They were preselected which made the experience a lot faster and easier. We got to have a small taste of each meal we made. And then the staff cooked all the meals and we had an all you can eat buffet at the end. They also give you the online recipe so you can try cooking them yourself at home. 5/5

Everything was 5 star— people, service, the class, and food. Started with timely, friendly pick up. Enjoyed the ride out of the city. Included visit to rice fields. Take the morning class because the market visit was really interesting and the afternoon would be hotter. Loved the variety of food. The chef was patient, talented, friendly and informative. His staff also was hard working and friendly. Most of all, it was a fun class! Highly recommend this!

Such a fun time! My favorite part of this was the local market we explored in the morning. Our guide was a great! We tried several things and she explained a few of the fruits and vegetables in the market. Afterward, we went to see the rice fields and then started the cooking class. Tata was very efficient and explained each step as we did it. I appreciated the explanation of each dish! It's definitely a fun way to learn more about Balinese culture.

I highly recommend doing the cooking class here with Wayan. Everything is so well organised, you learn a lot and the food that you create makes for a delicious lunch that you can recreate at home with your own recipe book to take at the end. This is a family-run business with the cooking class held in the middle of a beautiful rice field. It’s simply beautiful and a lot of fun!
