What To Expect

Make your way to the centrally located meeting point. Meet your guide and a small group of 12 people or fewer and head down the famous Graben boulevard en route to a coffee shop that has been serving fine Viennese brews since 1685.

Once properly caffeinated, satisfy your sweet tooth at a famous pastry shop and chocolatier, and then head to the hotel that claims fame for inventing the Viennese dessert Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam and chocolate icing: learn how the kitchen churns out 500 a day.

Continue to the two open-air markets of Naschmarkt and Brunnenmarkt, getting recommendations for the hottest local eateries along the way, and spend time browsing stalls of colorful produce, sweet treats, and homewares. Plus, visit a tiny restaurant near the market to try fresh produce, fish, spices, and cheese.

Finish your tour with a private coffee tasting in a popular coffeehouse in trendy Neubau, Vienna's seventh district, where you bid farewell to your guide.

This. tour. was. amazing. Our guide was Christopf. He taught us SO much history it was incredible. We ate at the coolest places and hit up several local hotspots that we would've never wandered into on our own. The street food at the end was perfect! The chef had so much experience and a ton of local flavors. I would 10/10 take this tour again and would recommend it to everyone.

Soo much food and fun

The guide Peter was lovely and gave a lot of wonderful information while leading a well paced tour. The amount of food was astronomical and you do not need to plan any meals or snack on this day. It will do a disservice to the whole experience.Know that the tour with Peter will run long so do not plan another tour tour unless it is late evening

Best food tour

We have done several food tours in Europe and the US. This was the best one we have been on hands down. Maria was such a good ambassador for Vienna, friendly, knowledgeable and funny. She taught us about the importance of the coffee culture and it's history while we enjoyed coffees and sweet and savory treats. We learned about the different districts and their personalities by visiting them using the transit system. The food at every stop was fantastic. I think the highlight of the tour for our entire group was Michael's food stand. We had three different kinds of sausage with three different mustards and freshly grated horseradish accompanied by the beverage of our choice. His goulash was out of this world, and we finished with a Viennese version of bread pudding. Don't be put off by the length of the tour, the tastings are spaced out but you definitely won't go hungry!

My wife and I had such a wonderful time experiencing Vienna through its delightful food scene, from a traditional coffee shop to a market bar to a street food vendor. The food was incredible across the board and the guide will make sure you don’t leave hungry. Our guide was friendly, full of knowledge, and taught us so much about his home of Vienna. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Whole experience was really good. Maria was excellent, changing the plan due to preferences of the group and accommodating allergies. Highlight stop was the market street food with Thomas with particularly good goulash and pork belly. Definitely would recommend!

This was an absolutely fabulous tour! Christophe took us to places outside the center which we would never have gone to on our won. All the while he told us stories and led us to places that only a local would know. The food was amazing - do not eat before and you won't want to eat after!!

We had an absolutely amazing time with on this tour. We visited Vienna for the first time and booked this food tour as it came highly recommended and I can see why. Whatever you do, DO NOT eat before you go on this tour! Christophe was our guide and he was brilliant. He was friendly, informative and more than eager to answer questions you had about Vienna and Viennese culture. He led us from a Viennese breakfast to pre-lunch to dessert to lunch and drinks and street food. The Kaiserschmarrn is now a particular favourite of mine. 😍 Also particular shout out to Thomas for making sure we ended the tour on a high. I can honestly say that you will not regret booking this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to have Christophe as your guide. I cannot recommend this enough!

Here’s an understatement: you’ll be well fed. More accurately, our tour guide Christoph told us “if you leave this tour hungry, I’m fired”. If you’re able to book this tour on your first day in Vienna, do it. It got us out of the city center and into some neighborhoods (“districts”) we would have never seen otherwise, and gave some perspective and appreciation for what the town looks and feels like outside the main tourist attractions. You’ll get the full Viennese experience: cafe culture, open air markets, truly unique ice cream, satisfying desserts, trendy restaurants, local beers/drinks, and the street food scene that I didn’t realize I needed so badly in my life until now. Along the way, Christoph did a great job giving us a proper lesson in Viennese culture from a local’s perspective. His dry humor, wit, and knowledge were the perfect pairing with all the tasty food and drink we enjoyed as he guided us around the city and fielded our questions along the way. Another reason to book the trip on your first day: you’ll get terrific recommendations for restaurants and bars for the rest of your stay. We went to one of their recommended cocktail bars after the tour was done and it was great. Only wish we had more time to visit more of their suggestions before we left! Probably worth reiterating, but part of the authenticity of this trip is that you’ll be riding public transit with your tour guide to get to the different places. Vienna’s subways and street cars were a clean, efficient and convenient way to get around town. We had already purchased the 48 hour “Vienna City Card”, which included unlimited public transit rides - but Christoph quickly helped anyone who needed help purchasing a transit ticket for the tour and kept us well organized at each stop. Bottom line: it’s a fun experience that we’re really glad we did.

Our guide was Maria and she was excellent in every way. Her explanations of why we went where we did were great. She did an excellent job of speaking to the history and significance. The places we visited for food and drink were great and we enjoyed them all. We also used the public transit system and that worked very well for us.

Peter was an amazing guide who shared a lifetime of Viennese experiences, history and information with us. The tour lasted all day and we traveled all over Vienna to sample delicious food and drink as well as tour some historical landmarks.
