Edam cheese, with its distinctive wheel-like shape and fire-engine red rind, is known around the world as one of Amsterdam’s most famous exports. Get to know the mild, semi-hard cheese, which originates in a 12th-century town also named Edam, situated along the banks of the IJsselmeer. Edam is a popular day trip from Amsterdam.
Ilya was a fabulous tour guide. I loved the itinerary of the tour. It started off with Zaanse Schans, to cheese factory (great demo and cheeses btw!), to lunch in Volendam, with Edam and Marken walking tours!
This was a fantastic tour! We loved the variety of towns that were included and everything was really organized. The cheese tasting and wooden shoe factory stop a particular highlight. The owner there was fantastic! We also loved the mix of guided time and free time at the various stops. It was easy to find our guide at the pick-up stop and the bus was clean with a great driver (Jack). Everyone from 17 to 70 in our party loved this tour.
I can't pick just one. Walking through Edam was really cool little town. Volendam was very nice also. The weather was a bit rainy and very windy. Because of the high winds we couldn't go to Marken
This was a great trip thanks to Costa, our guide, and Michele, our driver. The places were described perfectly and loved the historical stories and all the funny anecdotes. Will recommend this duo to all. They are the best!!!
Dianna and Stephan were entertaining and knowledgeable. They make a good team. The added piano playing was a nice bonus. We saw all the sights listed on this excursion and made some memorable purchases. A highly recommended excursion ... you won't be disappointed!
Great time. I loved how our guide kept us moving. No wasted time. Rained all day but we didn’t skip anything which I appreciated. The operating windmill sawmill was amazing!!
This was such an amazing day trip! Three amazing stops, with guides who were knowledgeable, helpful and a good time. Romina, Stef, and Ian were a true pleasure. The sites were great and the accomodations were perfect. Would absolutely recommend this day trip to everyone.
Taking a tour bus is an efficient way to get out of the city and see some countryside. That being said, this was a usual trip of this sort in that it focused quite a bit on providing opportunities to spend money at “tourist traps”. Tour leader was good and helpful. I have no complaints about being dropped off at the starting point instead of visiting another part of the city as scheduled. Other might have. Very good, not excellent.
Our tour guide Rob provided us with a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of information which made the tour very fun. Rob is very friendly and approachable and overall made for a fantastic day trip.
