Once the stomping grounds of Atlanta’s 19th-century elites—including Asa Griggs Candler, the founder of the Coca-Cola Company—Inman Park has since evolved into a dynamic, in-demand area. History buffs can see highlights like the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site and Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, while food lovers frequent Inman Park’s independent eateries, or venture to the nearby Little Five Points area to seek out the city’s trendiest bites and drinks. Other attractions include Freedom Park plus the pretty Springvale Park.

Electric car and trolley tours offer a way for time-pressed visitors to explore, while bike tours provide a more leisurely way to take in its scenery. Inman Park is located in Atlanta’s Eastside. It’s served by the MARTA East-West line (take it to Inman Park-Reynoldstown Station), as well as the Eastside BeltLine (accessible to cyclists, walkers, and those on scooters) and the Stone Mountain PATH trail. From Downtown, it’s also just a 10-minute drive to the area via Auburn Avenue.
Inman Park offers year-round attractions, though it’s best to visit on a sunny day—all the better to soak up the area’s architectural highlights, and stroll down scenic thoroughfares like Sinclair Avenue and Elizabeth Street. If you’re visiting Atlanta in spring, don’t forget to attend the annual Inman Park Festival, or take part in the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade in fall.
Held over three days, usually every April, the Inman Park Festival is one of Atlanta’s most popular annual street festivals. The event attracts thousands of attendees, and includes live music performances, a festive parade, and plenty of food and drink offerings. Don’t forget to take part in the Tour of Homes: many of the area’s highlight Victorian houses open their doors to the public during the festivities.
