Mohamed was great guide and made sure we were safe, comfortable and warm during the trek up and the wait for sunrise. He also helped us secure a good spot so we’d have perfect view of sunrise. It does get very cold so I recommend bringing warm clothes and making use of the mattresses and blankets they sell at the top.

Had the opportunity to visit Sharm El Sheik and had an extra day and decided to contact this tour experience. They were able to accommodate almost last minute. They told me that my trip day the monastery was going to be closed. I still went with the tour. Mahmoud was our tour guide and he was excellent, well versed in the knowledge and attentive to details. The driver was excellent and experienced. They were able to pick us from our AirBnb in Hadaba.

This trip was hard but amazing the views from the mountain top with the sun rise a wow experience I'd say you have to be fairly fit to walk it or you can get a camel ride up 90% of the Way the monastery beautiful to see the church the burning Bush mosses well just wonderful but bring warm clothes for the mountain top its very cold at night and wear proper walking shoes

There are many different booking options for this trip. I liked this one because (a) all fees included (other than optional camel ride and snacks) and (b) honest about the length of the trip. Others in my group had to pay entrance fees in cash which took some by surprise. And some were also surprised by how late our return was. (Expect to return about 1 to 2pm. That said, the experience is phenomenal. Our guide in the bus (who also conducted the monastery tour) and hike guide were both trilingual (Arabic, English, Russian) and thorough with explanations. Admin prior to the trip was clear on expectations and what to bring. The hike is long (my GPS watch measured 18 km total) but is definitely doable for people of good fitness. Camel rides are optional for those who need help, but the camels cannot do the last tough climb to the top. The youngest in our group was 8 and he was able to do it all. (Will admit he napped at every break and began to give up and cry when we were nearing the top but he hung in there. It was obvious he had a definite sense of accomplishment in the end.) The monastery trip at the end was fantastic. However everyone is so exhausted at that point that few have any real interest. Too bad as the monastery deserves a visit on its own. Be sure to bring cash to purchase snacks and water as needed (or bring your own) and tip your guides!! The tour is not costly on its own. Tips are much appreciated.

It was really fun and exhausting climb. We did the climb during the day. First we visited St Catherine's Monastery. Then we started to climb at around noon. We visited in October so the temperature was much more bearable. Climbing at night I have heard is much too cold. We rode camels up, which was a must during the heat of the day. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. Luckily we did. Since we did the tour during the middle of the day there was no meal provided with the tour. The climb was very taxing but very rewarding.

Easily the most memorable trail I’ve hiked in my life. Not just because of its biblical significance, but because it was a particularly challenging night climb (emphasis on climb because that’s literally how it felt like the entire hike). From pick up to drop off, actually right from booking this tour, everything was handled perfectly. Met my expectations, and then some! Even the bedouin guide that we had (Hussein) was incredible. Would definitely recommend this tour.
