Great experience
Not as fast as I hoped but it was a lot of fun. Good combination between commentary and speed. Sometimes it was hard to hear/understand the guide but overall a great experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
People Also Ask
Q:Is it worth visiting Canary Wharf?
A:Yes, Canary Wharf is worth visiting if you like smart skyscrapers, upmarket shopping, and restaurants, but otherwise, it may be of limited interest. It’s more of a business area than a tourist destination, but it offers a good range of shops and restaurants catering to workers in the area. Many travelers just pass through while visiting nearby Greenwich.
Q:Can you walk around Canary Wharf?
A:Yes, Canary Wharf is a walkable area. These days, it’s a modern financial center, but it was once a major working port, so you can walk between shiny skyscrapers and old docks with centuries of history. Canary Wharf is especially walkable on weekends when it tends to be quiet because many of the offices in the area are closed.
Q:Why is Canary Wharf famous?
A:Canary Wharf is famous as London’s central business district and a financial hub. It has many tall tower blocks containing businesses and apartments. However, it’s not all new and glitzy: Canary Wharf has a long history and was one of the busiest shipping ports in the world in the early 19th century, then known as the West India Docks.
Q:Can anyone go to Canary Wharf?
A:Yes, anyone can visit Canary Wharf. It’s a financial district in eastern central London. While some of the businesses will be closed to the general public (such as private offices), the shops and restaurants are open to all, and the area was designed to be accessible to those with reduced mobility.
Q:Does Canary Wharf have a tube station?
A:Yes, the Canary Wharf area is serviced by the Canary Wharf tube station on the Jubilee line. It’s located between the Canada Water and North Greenwich stations. The first trains depart at around 5:30am and the last between 12:30am and 1am, depending on the direction of travel.
Q:Is Canary Wharf a nice part of London?
A:Yes, Canary Wharf is a nice part of London as it’s the city’s central financial hub. It’s an especially good place to live, with apartments in glitzy high-rise towers and many smart shops and restaurants. It’s less interesting to most tourists but is still a pleasant place to take a walk or grab lunch.
