Mallorca is an island full of cavities and underground conduits formed thousands of years ago. Its calcareous rock and its erosion caused by the activity of the sea have been opening these cavities to form various sea caves in Mallorca. Some of them are called sea caves because of their unique access from the sea, as is the case of the Cova des Coloms in Mallorca, one of the best known on the island.
