Emu Ridge is a popular tourist destination and can be visited on food and wine tours, full- and half-day outings, and shore excursions. Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery is about 45 minutes from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw and 25 minutes from Kingscote in east central Kangaroo Island. From Penneshaw, take the B23, the island’s only numbered highway route, west to Haines. From there, turn farther west on Wilson’s Road and follow it until you reach the distillery.

Visitors should keep in mind that self-guided tours are always available during opening hours; guide tours are always available with prebooking or for drop-in groups during school holidays; and all other private tours must be booked beforehand. During winter, it’s wise to call ahead for any visit.
Of all the tours available at Emu Ridge (at least six), the Ultimate Experience is the most luxurious—and comprehensive. With this tour, visitors can explore the distillery with a guide—as with other options—and tuck into a 3-course lunch from the cafe with cider tastings and a cocktail. After an indulgent lunch, there’s a fragrance- and bath salt-making workshop and a mystery gift-giving.
